In the previous quarter &ndash; the three months ending June &ndash; <a href=\"https:\/\/seekingalpha.com\/article\/4364028-take-two-interactive-software-inc-ttwo-ceo-strauss-zelnick-on-q1-2021-results-earnings-call?part=single\"  rel=\"noopener\">Zelnick told investors that it had sold in &ldquo;nearly 135m units.&rdquo;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>In recent years, Take-Two has generally been shipping between five and ten million units of Grand Theft Auto 5 each quarter, so to see the title go from &lsquo;just under 135m&rdquo; to &ldquo;over 135m units&rdquo; in three months indicates something of a slow down.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/06\/11\/gta-5-ps5\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">Grand Theft Auto 5 is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X\/S in the second half of 2021<\/a>. Some might think that the game&rsquo;s forthcoming leap to the next-generation of hardware might be the result of sales dipping for the crime blockbuster, but anyone who is going to buy a PS5 this early on probably has already bought GTA 5 at some point already.<\/p>\n<p>As of September 2020, Red Dead Redemption 2 has shipped more than 34m units worldwide, an increase on the 32m that Take-Two reported in June.<\/p>\n<p>Grand Theft Auto 5 might have sold in a huge 135m units around the world in seven years, which is hugely impressive, but &ndash;
