After not participating in Call of Duty League last year, the North American establishment has officially confirmed its rumored return, taking over the OpTiC Gaming Call of Duty League franchise slot.<\/p>\n<p>100 Thieves found its success in <em>Call of Duty<\/em>, but left the scene in August last year. In a heartfelt video posted to his Twitter, team owner <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hyper-scape-nadeshot-ubisoft\/\">Nadeshot<\/a> explained the decision, stating he felt the company was \u201cjust not equipped and not prepared to make that jump.\u201d Nadeshot confirming their acquisition of the LA franchise slot for the 2021 season implies the organization is more comfortable making that jump back into <em>C<\/em><em>a<\/em><em>ll of Duty<\/em> this year.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-warzone-bunker-codes-locations-black-ops-cold-war-teases\/\">All Call of Duty: Warzone Bunker Codes and Locations for Black Ops Cold War Teases<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">League franchise slot in LA originally belonged to OpTiC Gaming LA via Immortals Gaming Club. The OpTiC brand was then sold back to the original founder <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/h3cz-hector-rodriguez-buys-optic-gaming\/\">Hector &#8220;H3CZ&#8221; Rodriguez<\/a>. However, it is against the rules for teams to own more than one franchise in the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> League &#8211; with H3CZ already being the owner of <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> League team Chicago Huntsmen, rumors surfaced that the LA slot would be sold to 100 Thieves. Now 100 Thieves has confirmed the rumor.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/100Thieves\/status\/1324758763400617985\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">With teams in <em>Valorant<\/em>, <em>Fortnite<\/em>, and <em>League of Legends<\/em>, the return of 100 Thieves to the Call of Duty League comes\u00a0looking forward to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-season-challenges-prestige\/\">launch of <\/a><\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-black-ops-cold-war-season-challenges-prestige\/\"><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/span><\/i><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">. The confirmed LA Thieves roster for the <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> League 2021 is Austin &#8220;SlasheR&#8221; Liddicoat, Kenny &#8220;Kuavo&#8221; Williams, Thomas &#8220;TJHaLy&#8221; Haly, and Zack &#8220;Drazah&#8221; Jordan (substitute).\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Nadeshot is an active voice within the FPS shooter space, for example in his criticisms of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nadeshot-criticizes-call-duty-warzone-skill-based-matchmaking\/\"><em>Call of Duty Warzone<\/em> matchmaking system<\/a>. He is the figurehead of 100 Thieves and found a lot of his own success in <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, so when talking about not being able to see his organization in <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Call of Duty<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> League 2020, there was an obvious disappointment, both from himself and fans. It\u2019s hard to identify what has changed since then, especially since the terms of the agreement for the slot have not been disclosed, but many will be glad to see their return.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">An interesting note is that only last month <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/100-thieves-releases-csgo-roster\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">100 Thieves released its <em>CS:GO<\/em> roster<\/a>, citing the pandemic as the main motivator for stepping out of <em>CS:GO<\/em>, alongside the scene\u2019s shift to Europe-based tournaments.
