This week is a big one for\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> fans, as\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> will finally launch this coming Friday, November 13. While\u00a0Call of Duty<\/em> fans wait to try\u00a0Black Ops Cold War<\/em>, they can keep playing\u00a0Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/em><\/a> and\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em><\/strong>, which just received a beefy update that fixes some lingering issues, changes up the available playlists, and adds a big new feature to the battle royale.<\/p>\n

Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em><\/a> Update 1.29 is available to download now across all platforms, with a file size of about 33GB. The update’s big news is that\u00a0it adds private matches to\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>, though admittedly it is a feature that doesn’t seem as though it will get a ton of use.\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> private matches include regular BR, Plunder, and Mini BR variants, with the modes requiring 50, 30, and 24 players to start, respectively. While it seems like a useful feature for those setting up official tournaments and things, it seems as though the average player is going to have difficulty setting up\u00a0Warzone<\/em> private matches without bots. It’s unclear if bots will be added at some point down the line.<\/p>\n

The new\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> update also tweaks up the available playlists so that players can now play the standard Solos, Duos, Trios, and Quads, along with Plunder Trios. It also addresses a number of\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> bugs and technical hiccups<\/a>, which should result in a smoother overall experience for all players.<\/p>\n

While\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>‘s private matches<\/a> may be the big selling point for the 1.29 update, the update also addresses\u00a0Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/em> as well, fixing bugs in campaign, multiplayer, and Spec Ops Survival. Upon downloading the update, fans will find that the\u00a0Call of Duty: Modern Warfare<\/em> third-person bug no longer works, and they will also see some new featured playlists in the main menu. This includes Ground War, Gunfight, TDM Snipers Only, Hardpoint Hills and Kills, Shipment 24\/7, and Shoot House 24\/7.<\/p>\n

The new\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> 1.29 update also has some PC-specific features. In an effort to reduce the continuously growing\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> PC file size<\/a>, the game will now use On-Demand Textures Streaming to display high resolution textures.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em>‘s release date right around the corner, it’s safe to say that the\u00a0Modern Warfare<\/em> updates will likely slow down. However, fans can still expect\u00a0Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> to be updated regularly, with the next big content drop expected to happen on December 10 alongside\u00a0Black Ops Cold War\u00a0<\/em>Season 1<\/a>.<\/p>\n
