Now that the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed<\/em> series is out, players are discovering that Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/em><\/strong> doesn’t seem to have a controversial feature that Assassin’s Creed Odyssey<\/em><\/a> had.<\/p>\n

As players are forming their own Viking adventure in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/em><\/a>, some have noticed that the game has a storefront where they can purchase things like cosmetic items<\/a>, collectibles, and other trinkets. However, one thing that the in-game store does not have are XP Boosters that were featured in the previous Assassin’s Creed<\/em> game. What this means is that the entire grind aspect has been brought down, and that players don’t have to force themselves into buying XP Boosters in order to level up quickly through gameplay in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, <\/em>without having to take part in repetitive, grind-y missions like the last game featured.<\/p>\n

One possible reason for Ubisoft opting to not include XP Boosters in the game is due to the community’s backlash back when the item was discovered in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey<\/em>. Players weren’t\u00a0all that\u00a0happy to find out that progressing through the game at a steady pace meant they had to pay $10 on top of whatever they paid for the game. The idea to incorporate XP Boosters in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey<\/em><\/a> left a sour taste in many mouths, thus causing fans to wonder if Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/em> would get the same treatment. However, that doesn’t seem to be the case.<\/p>\n

Another reason to not include XP Boosters in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/em> deals with in-game mechanics. According to those who are currently adventuring through the game, they are earning skill points at a steady speed without getting into too much tedious gameplay. Additionally, the story is paced in such a way that it makes players feel like they aren’t being slowed down and absolutely need to grind XP in order to progress. Although there are areas that are meant for higher levels, there is still plenty to do in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

Since players don’t have to worry about spending extra money on XP Boosters this time around, they can still further support\u00a0Valhalla<\/em> by purchasing paid expansions in the future<\/a>. With Ubisoft outlining what the expansions are going to be, players can get a good idea of what awaits them once those expansions release.<\/p>\n

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla<\/strong><\/em> is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X. A PS5 version of the game launches alongside the console on November 12.<\/p>\n
