Unfortunately, the\u00a0<em>Destiny 2: Beyond Light<\/em> expansion launch is not quite going as planned.\u00a0Likely due to an influx of players all trying to jump into the expansion at once, the\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> servers are down, with Bungie offering no timetable as to when they will be available again.<\/p>\n<p>Bungie confirmed that the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/destiny-2\/\"><em>Destiny 2<\/em><\/a> servers are down in a tweet that explained that it is &#8220;investigating server and connection issues.&#8221; Bungie told fans to wait for updates, though stopped short of clarifying exactly when those updates will be available. As of the time of this writing, thousands of\u00a0<em>Destiny 2<\/em> players have reported that they can&#8217;t connect to the game&#8217;s servers, so it&#8217;s clearly a widespread issue.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/destiny-2-end-live-event-beyond-light-video\/\">Destiny 2 In-Game Live Event Brought Huge Changes<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/destiny-2-beyond-light-titan-io-mars-mercury\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Destiny 2<\/em>&#8216;s servers<\/a> being down for the\u00a0<em>Beyond Light<\/em> launch is unfortunate, it&#8217;s not exactly unexpected. This kind of thing is common whenever a big new online multiplayer game or expansion launches, and many likely saw it coming.
