\tSleep and mindfulness app for children, Moshi, raised $12 million in a\u00a0 Series B funding round, which it specified would be used to enhance its portfolio of audio stories and meditation techniques for relaxing youths before bed.<\/p>\n

In a statement, the company said the funding was led by venture capital company Accel, with participation from fellow companies Latitude Ventures and TriplePoint Capital.<\/p>\n

The round also included investment from former CEO and chairman of MTV Bill Roedy. As part of the deal, Latitude Ventures representative Julia Hawkins will join Moshi\u2019s board.<\/p>\n

Moshi noted its mission was to help 1 billion children sleep better and the funding will be directed towards new features and content developed with sleep experts and scientists, and scaling its user base, which now comprises more than 100,000 subscribers.<\/p>\n

The company\u2019s head Ian Chambers outlined poor sleep as a growing health issue affecting families and said the app was helping by \u201creducing bedtime stress for parents and their kids and enabling everyone to enjoy a peaceful night\u2019s sleep\u201d.<\/p>\n

Moshi, which is suitable for children aged four years-old and up, offers more than 45 hours of original content, with the company bringing additions on a weekly basis.<\/p>\n

To help youths fall asleep, the offering provides more than 145 stories, music tracks, sounds and meditations designed for kids.<\/p>\n

Moshi comes with a free one-week trial, whereafter an annual subscription is priced \u00a339.99.<\/p>\n\n
