Genshin Impact<\/strong><\/em> has finally had its first major update. With it came some new achievements and new enemies, and players can earn rewards for finishing some of the new content in Genshin<\/em>‘s update 1.1<\/a>. One of these achievements is the\u00a0\u2026Well That Was Strange<\/em> Achievement, featuring a strange new creature called the Unusual Hilichurl.<\/p>\n

Since\u00a0update 1.1 became live,\u00a0Genshin Impact\u00a0<\/em>players have been seeing some very weird-looking hilichurls around. They appear mostly at night, and seem to have an in-game timer that is connected to location. Defeating them will not only complete the achievement, but will also earn the player some free Primogems<\/a> (or just some cabbage).<\/p>\n

These hilichurls are carrying around suitcases and are non-aggressive. They will not attack unless a player damages them first, and their name doesn’t show up in Elemental Vision.\u00a0Once attacked, these weird critters are labeled as “Unusual Hilichurl” with the subtitle “Menace of the Mansion.” Oddly enough, they throw weaponized Primogems at players. Although it doesn’t look like players can catch the Primogems and put them into their inventories, it does look like killing a few of these strange goblins will earn an achievement and possibly some of the premium currency that players need to participate in the new Childe\/Tartaglia’s Banner<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Killing one of these Unusual Hilichurls in Genshin Impact<\/a><\/em> will reward players with the completed achievement\u00a0\u2026Well That Was Strange<\/em>, giving them 5 Primogems for their efforts. Continuing to kill the goblins levels up this achievement, giving players another 10 Primogems and then 20 Primogems, but how many unusual hilichurls players have to kill to get those are unknown.<\/p>\n

While five Primogems is nothing compared to the 600 free Primogems that miHoYo\u00a0gave away<\/a> to all players that are Adventure Rank 5 or higher yesterday, every little bit helps when trying to wish for a favorite 5-star character or weapon.<\/p>\n

While the full scope of the Unusual Hilichurl invasion\u00a0is not yet known, they appear to have set locations at set times. Some locations have more than one set time, it appears. There are several locations that players can find them, but the times of day that they appear varies for each location. Here are the locations that they seem to spawn the most, and the times they spawn, if known. All of this information is subject to change as players begin to compile information on when and where these guys spawn.<\/p>\n

Location 1 – Cuijue Slope\u00a0–\u00a05:30PM<\/p>\n

Location 2 – Qingyun Peak – Left of the\u00a0waypoint, on a stone platform. Thankfully,\u00a0fast travel has been improved in Genshin Impact<\/em> update 1.1<\/a>, making this even easier – Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location 3 – Tianqiu Valley – 11:30AM<\/p>\n

Location 4 \u2013 Windrise – Statue of the Seven – Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location 5 \u2013 Cape Oath – Near waypoint\u00a0– Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location\u00a06 \u2013 Stormterror’s Lair – Waypoint\u00a0–\u00a01PM or close to it<\/p>\n

Location\u00a07 \u2013 Lingju Pass – Waypoint\u00a0– Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location\u00a08 \u2013 Liyue Harbour – North East Waypoint\u00a0–\u00a03PM<\/p>\n

Location\u00a09 – Wolvendom arena – close to the entrance\u00a0– Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location\u00a010 – Anemo Hypostasis\u00a0– Left shrine\u00a0– Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location 11 – Southwest of Stormterror’s Lair<\/a> –\u00a0rock platform with the Eye of the Storm\u00a0– Time Unknown<\/p>\n

Location 12 – Mingyun Village- just south of the village – 3PM or\u00a011:30AM<\/p>\n

Finding these Unusual Hilichurls can be extremely time consuming and difficult. Players may just want to go about their business in Genshin Impact<\/em>, completing bounties<\/a> and quests, and just keep an eye out for these strange creatures while wandering the map.<\/p>\n
