The latest season has brought several changes to the game such as a new map called Olympus, the Trident Hovercar, and the latest legend, Horizon. This new season also brought about <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/apex-legends-season-7-battle-pass-changes-why\/\">changes to\u00a0<em>Apex Legends<\/em>&#8216;\u00a0battle pass<\/a>, which has proven to be a very controversial move within the community.<\/p>\n<p>The controversy comes from how the\u00a0<em>Apex Legends\u00a0<\/em>battle pass now handles levels. Over the course of a week, players gain stars by completing various challenges. By accumulating 10 stars, players progress 1 level on the battle pass. However, apparently due to a bug, if players have only acquired 9 stars over the course of the week, their\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/apex-legends-battle-pass-star-progress-reset\/\">battle pass progress is reset<\/a>, causing these 9 stars to become null and void. Naturally, this angered many players, causing some to voice their displeasure directly with Respawn.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/apex-legends-horizon-tips\/\">Apex Legends: 10 Pro Tips For Playing Horizon<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Respawn has been quick to act in response to these issues, however. The developer has pushed out a new patch to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/apex-legends\/\">Apex Legends<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>fixing the issue. In addition, players will all be receiving double experience in-game until the next weekly patch.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlayApex\/status\/1327017879091380225?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<em>Apex Legends<\/em> players are likely happy to be receiving this double experience, this bug is just one of many that have appeared in the game since the COVID-19 pandemic hit. Season 6 saw a wealth of bugs to the point that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/apex-legends-cheat-win-suspension-ban-respawn-entertainment\/\">Respawn Entertainment began banning players<\/a> that were utilizing these glitches to win.<\/p>\n<p>These issues are likely due to the Respawn team working from home. The development team has continued to work diligently throughout the pandemic,\u00a0however Respawn seems to have made taking care of its staff a major priority.\u00a0<em>Apex Legends\u00a0<\/em>director Chad Grenier went on record\u00a0recently saying that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/apex-legends-no-studio-crunch-updates\/\">Respawn would not force its team to crunch<\/a> to put out additional content; a topic that has been the source of major conversation for titles like\u00a0<em>Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Between the quick response to issues in-game and good work culture at Respawn, it seems that\u00a0<em>Apex Legends\u00a0<\/em>has quite a life ahead of it. This dedication to the community and its employees has proven quite profitable for the developer, with EA recently stating that the battle royale was on track to become a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/apex-legends-predicted-to-earn-1-billion-dollars-march-2021-fiscal-year\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">$1 billion net worth franchise<\/a> by March 2021. And with the game on track to be released on both the Nintendo Switch and mobile devices over the next year, this level of profit will likely grow even more before the end of 2021.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Apex Legends\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is available now on PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
