Stephanie, who goes by the username\u00a0@step_nie on Twitter, posted a tweet stating she was uncomfortable with the similarities between herself and Seraphine.<\/p>\n<p>Riot released a statement regarding the claims made by Stephanie. Riot stated that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/league-of-legends-seraphine-flash-encore-invisible-trick-bug-glitch\/\">Seraphine was independently created by Riot Games<\/a> and was not based on any one individual. In addition, Riot claimed that the former employee Stephanie was dating left Riot over a year ago and did not have any input into the creative design process.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/league-of-legends-seraphine-twitter\/\">League of Legends Players Have a Problem With Seraphine&#8217;s Social Media Posts<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Riot refuted the claim of misappropriation, and stated that they investigated the allegations after receiving a letter from Stephanie&#8217;s lawyer last month. &#8220;We confirmed that her claim of being the basis for Seraphine lacks merit, communicated this to her attorney, and invited him to discuss the facts with us.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TimRizzo\/status\/1327021474331455491\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A lot of specifics regarding\u00a0Seraphine line up very closely with facts about Stephanie, from her name to her cartoonistic sketches of herself. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/league-of-legends-seraphine-riot-games-stephanie-appearance\/\">Seraphine and Stephanie both have cats<\/a>, and the character art shows striking similarities to photos she sent to her ex-boyfriend. Seraphine and Stephanie also share the same hair color, eye color, and face shape.<\/p>\n<p>According to Stephanie, she dated a Riot employee for 3 months, a man she refers to as &#8220;John.&#8221; During that time he discussed his job, and they would talk about her favorite champion, Ahri. She states during those conversations he would bring up ideas for skins that sounded a lot like her.\u00a0 She said that John &#8220;suggested an e-girl or awkward skin for Ahri to his coworkers that he implied was inspired by me.&#8221; Stephanie said she told him it was a bad idea from the start.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/step_nie\/status\/1326939261900259329?ref_src=https:\/\/gamerant.com\/league-of-legends-seraphine-stephanie-not-inspired\/twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1326939261900259329%7Ctwgr%5E&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fgamerant.com%2Fwp-admin%2Fpost.php%3Fpost%3D850652action%3Dedit%22 frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In her post she went on to say that she and John played <em>League of Legends<\/em> together regularly. According to Stephanie, when she would make jokes while they played, he said things like &#8220;we have to put that in.&#8221;\u00a0 She states that John also told her he was involved with <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/league-legends-patch-10-22-kda-biggest-changes\/\">K\/DA\u2019s first skins <\/a>because he knew a lot of the people on the team. According to her post, John implied that he had influence over the project, and had made successful pitches in the\u00a0past.
