The Pokemon Company has launched a new recycling initiative in Japan\u00a0as a special collaboration with the\u00a0“Pokemon\u00a0Daisuki\u00a0Club,” which functions as\u00a0the official Japanese Pokemon\u00a0Fan\u00a0Club.\u00a0The new initiative has been dubbed “Hungry Grimer,” or “Empty Belly Grimer,” and it involves a particularly hungry Grimer’s pursuit of a full belly.<\/p>\n

Fans can take a look at\u00a0the official\u00a0Pokemon<\/em><\/a>\u00a0site dedicated to the project, but unfortunately, details are only available in Japanese. The site allows viewers to read about Grimer’s\u00a0proposed strategy for achieving a stomach full of food (“Grimer’s Satiety Strategy”),\u00a0 and showcases the Hungry Grimer’s design: a trashcan topped with a life-size Grimer, which will apparently respond when fed.<\/p>\n

Grimer is a Poison-type first introduced in Generation 1 of Pokemon<\/em><\/a>. As per its official description, “Hungry Grimer” is a Grimer that loves eating empty plastic bottles, glass bottles, and cans. The incredibly hungry sludge Pokemon is making appearances in numerous cities, but it’s doing so “like a spirit” – nobody knows where Hungry Grimer will next wander off to. That said, the site does promise that Hungry Grimer will relocate to a new site\u00a0as soon as\u00a0its belly is full.<\/p>\n
