Despite having no experience with any of the changes to the gameplay or map design, however, pro player NICKMERCS won his very first match in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/fortnite\/\"><em>Fortnite<\/em><\/a> after being gone for an entire year.<\/p>\n<p>NICKMERCS is one of many streamers <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/faze-clan-jarvis-fortnite-ban-twitch-video-clip\/\">to make a return to <em>Fortnite<\/em><\/a> after a lengthy absence from the battle royale. However, the incredibly skilled player showed no signs of being rusty when he loaded up the game once again, dominating in his first game back. After racking up multiple kills, reacting with excitement after every battle won, NICKMERCS eventually reached the final battle of the match. Once again edging out his opponent, NICKMERCS claimed the Victory Royale.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-frozen-legends-pack-holiday-item-shop-2020\/\">Fortnite Frozen Legends Pack Coming Back to Item Shop for Holidays<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>NICKMERCS\u2019 return to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-chapter-2-best-worst-locations\/\">a Marvel-covered <em>Fortnite<\/em> landscape<\/a> was thrilling to watch, and the clip was quickly captured and posted to YouTube. The FaZe member has previously mentioned wanting to return to <em>Fortnite<\/em> prior to his victory, saying that the game was some of the most fun he has ever had streaming. It certainly seems that NICKMERCS has enjoyed his return as much as he hoped he would, and the player has promised fans that there will be more <em>Fortnite<\/em> content to come on his channels soon.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"480\" height=\"270\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/j5RZjgKOn2g?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Previously, NICKMERCS had spent time with <em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em>. The talented player became well-known for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-bruen-mk9-attachments-loadouts-nickmercs-no-recoil\/\">his <em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> loadouts<\/a>, consistently providing players with the best versions of weapons to give them an edge over their opponents. While NICKMERCS is likely to keep playing <em>Call of Duty: Warzone<\/em> going forward, and provide more loadouts whenever new weapons arrive, it seems likely that\u00a0<em>Fortnite<\/em> will rejoin his regular rotation of games, too.<\/p>\n<p>The streamer tweeted after the win that he \u201chad so much fun playing Fortnite today,\u201d adding that it \u201cfelt just like old times.\u201d Aside from promising that more streams of the game would come, NICKMERCS teased involvement with the <em>Fortnite<\/em>\u00a0Championship Series. While <em>Fortnite<\/em>\u2019s current tournament allows early <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/fortnite-black-widow-skin-leak\/\">access to skins like Black Widow<\/a>, it seems the game\u2019s next competitive bracket could see an appearance from the returning NICKMERCS.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NICKMERCS\/status\/1328527303941509120?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Fortnite<\/em> is back on the rise following the return of popular content creators like NICKMERCS and Ninja, as well as the success of the recent Marvel event.
