With the Xbox Series X currently having a significant\u00a0Xbox Game Pass\u00a0<\/strong>attach rate, it seems the coveted subscription service is thriving more than ever. Boasting games like\u00a0Doom Eternal<\/a>, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, The Outer Wilds,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Halo: The Master Chief Collection\u00a0<\/em>alongside the entire\u00a0EA Play library, it’s clear the service’s line-up has been a hit with Microsoft’s playerbase.<\/p>\n

However, an influx of new titles often means that Xbox needs to drop\u00a0a few names from\u00a0Game Pass’ current lineup, and it eight games will be doing just that\u00a0on December 1. According to the Xbox Game Pass<\/a> website, these titles will be\u00a0Dead Island: Definitive Edition, Absolver, The Escapists 2, Wandersong, Demon’s Tilt, Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden, Hatoful Boyfriend,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Faeria.<\/em><\/p>\n

The biggest names of the bunch are likely\u00a0Dead Island<\/a>, Absolver,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Mutant Year Zero,\u00a0<\/em>with all three standing as enticing releases for Game Pass owners.\u00a0Dead Island: Definitive Edition\u00a0<\/em>is a remastered version of Techland’s divisive 2011 RPG zombie game, allowing players to team up and tackle a tropical paradise crammed with\u00a0undead foes. Meanwhile,\u00a0Absolver\u00a0<\/em>hit shelves back in 2017, with the multiplayer action-RPG managing to carve an interesting niche through its martial-arts-focused gameplay.<\/p>\n

Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden\u00a0<\/em>was something of a sleeper hit too, with the punishing, post-apocalyptic strategy game catching a lot of people by surprise in 2018. As for the other games leaving the service, The Escapists 2\u00a0<\/em>offers\u00a0the first game’s\u00a0quirky prison-escape gameplay\u00a0with new locations, more mechanics, and better visuals. <\/em>Hatoful Boyfriend<\/a>, <\/em>on the other hand,\u00a0became a viral sensation upon release due to its bizarre concept, with the crux centering around\u00a0a parody of a high-school dating simulator\u00a0where the player forges romantic relationships with\u00a0pigeons.<\/p>\n

As for\u00a0Wandersong<\/a>,<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>the game is a musical adventure where the player\u00a0has to save the universe through the power of song. Meanwhile,\u00a0Demon’s Tilt\u00a0<\/em>is a pinball game with bullets, carnage, and monsters. The final title,\u00a0Faeria,\u00a0<\/em>is a fantasy card game with layers of strategy involved. With all\u00a0eight games set to disappear from the service in just two weeks, those interested in experiencing what\u00a0each release has to offer should ensure they\u00a0make getting through them a priority.<\/p>\n

Xbox Game Pass<\/strong> is offering more games than ever before, with EA’s new deal with Xbox meaning the likes of\u00a0Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order<\/a>, The Sims 4, Star Wars Battlefront 2,\u00a0<\/em>the\u00a0Mass Effect\u00a0<\/em>trilogy, and\u00a0Anthem\u00a0<\/em>are all available. It’s also bound to get even more games in the coming months, with Microsoft set to close its Bethesda acquisition early next year.<\/p>\n
