Gears 5\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>has seen a number of fun cameos and guest appearances since its debut, adding\u00a0Terminator: Dark Fate\u00a0<\/em>character packs\u00a0last year as well as a\u00a0Halo: Reach\u00a0<\/em>DLC\u00a0containing playable versions of Kat and Emile. The game even added the option to play through a fully-voiced alternate campaign where WWE icon Batista takes over the role of Marcus Fenix<\/a>, riffing on the actor’s desire to play the video game icon in a live-action movie adaptation.<\/p>\n

It seems Batista won’t be the only professional wrestler to make the jump to\u00a0Gears 5<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>however, with Xavier Woods announcing that popular WWE tag team The New Day\u00a0will officially be coming to the game. That means players can hop into multiplayer games as Woods, Kofi Kingston, and Big E very\u00a0soon, as the trio chainsaw their way\u00a0through Locusts\u00a0while channeling the\u00a0power of positivity.<\/p>\n

As expected for the eccentric Raw Tag Team Champions, Woods, Kingston, and Big E will all don colorful, pink and blue COG armor resembling their in-ring attire within the WWE<\/a>. Their models look incredibly authentic too, with\u00a0the trio of stars all\u00a0appearing near-identical to their real-life\u00a0<\/em>counterparts. Speaking on the crossover, Xavier Woods claims he’s been “playing\u00a0Gears of War <\/em>for years\u00a0(& reading the books)”, so the opportunity to\u00a0officially become part of the franchise is a dream come true. Although there’s no exact date shared for when players can expect to march the iconic WWE tag team into battle, the\u00a0models\u00a0shown off by Woods appear to indicate the\u00a0trio are\u00a0well on their way to making their debuts.<\/p>\n
