Super Mario 3D All-Stars <\/span><\/span>may not have been the remaster fans hoped for<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> at launch, but a recent update adds a couple of much-requested gameplay features. Namely, players now have the ability to play\u00a0Super Mario Sunshine with a GameCube controller.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Those who downloaded the ver 1.1.0 update that dropped yesterday can now enjoy (or loathe)\u00a0Sunshine the way God always intended. Of course, you\u2019ll need the GameCube controller adapter to make that happen. It should also go without saying that you can only use a GameCube controller while the Switch is docked \u2013 which\u00a0means Switch Lite owners are out of luck.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Nintendo notes that Sunshine’s\u00a0button layout will not reflect the GameCube inputs. It\u2019s worth pointing out that the Gamecube controller can be used to play Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Galaxy. It feels a bit less natural to do so, but you can totally do it.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span>The update also allows players to invert the camera on all three games, alongside squashing general bugs and whatnot. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Super Mario 3D All-Stars\u00a0may not have set\u00a0the world on fire in a wholly positive sense, but it’s nice to see Nintendo updating and improving\u00a0the collection, especially considering how it\u00a0isn’t long for this world. That’s because Nintendo plans to pull the bundle\u00a0from physical and digital storefronts on\u00a0March 31st 2021 in what some consider a questionable move.\u00a0Nintendo launched the bundle to celebrate Super Mario’s 35th anniversary alongside similarly limited-time\u00a0software like\u00a0Super Mario 35<\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n For more on Super Mario 3D All-Stars, watch us put the collection through its paces in our <\/span><\/span>New Gameplay Today video<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>.
