The PS5’s\u00a0Demon’s Souls<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>remake\u00a0is out\u00a0and reviews have been nothing short of\u00a0amazing<\/a>. Comparisons to the original game have already come out and Bluepoint Games has taken the liberty of making a few changes to make the title better.<\/p>\n

So far, no new story elements have been added, but with a broken Archstone still in the game, there is a possibility of DLC. For now, the changes have all been about enhancing gameplay in ways that the PS3 version couldn’t. These changes make the game feel better than ever.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Character Creator<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Anyone who played the original\u00a0Demon’s Souls<\/em><\/a> will remember the atrocious character creator. No matter what players did, characters in the original turned out less than desirable.<\/p>\n

The remake has remedied this issue and implemented a character creator worthy of even the greatest RPG<\/a>. Players can now make their characters look however they want and more. After playing around with it for a short while, players will realize that it is far different than the lackluster character creator of games past.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>New Weapons & Armor<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The remake has included some previously unattainable weapons,<\/a>\u00a0although most\u00a0have stated that the weapons are only available in the digital deluxe edition of the game. One of the new weapons, the Reaper Scythe, was available as a pre-order bonus. Fans remember this weapon as being wielded by the Reaper in the Shrine of Storms.<\/p>\n

Other weapons, armor, and shields appear to be items that are wielded by other enemies that are now available to get as drops. Maybe Bluepoint will work on adding even more items to the game in the future.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Multiplayer Upgrades<\/h2>\n

Gone are the days of the archaic multiplayer of the original game<\/a>, as\u00a0the remake has changed the\u00a0online component for the better. This time around, players can connect with one another using a password system just like those used in\u00a0Dark Souls Remastered<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Dark Souls 3<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

On top of that, the number of players allowed in a world has been increased from four to six. This chance enhances the multiplayer and makes the game more interesting. At any one time, players could have as many as three invaders enter their world along with two friends.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Increased Loading Times<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Loading times are always annoying. Waiting to get back into the game is a real bore and ruins the experience of a great game. The original has loading times that can take up to three minutes after a player has died. In a game where failure is very common, the loading times quickly got old.<\/p>\n

The remake boasts extremely fast loading times. Getting back into the game now takes mere seconds compared to the original, allowing more time to fight demons and explore the newly imagined world.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Haptic Feedback<\/h2>\n

Bluepoint has taken advantage of every aspect of the PS5,\u00a0including the controller. The new haptic feedback system in the DualSense controller is great and it really shines in\u00a0Demon’s Souls.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

Each parry, strike, block, and dodge roll is felt in real-time. When an enemy hits a player, they feel the intensity<\/a> in their hands. The controller speaker helps to enhance this experience further, and small sounds come from the controller to help the player feel the environment.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Photo Mode<\/h2>\n

Every game seems to have a photo mode nowadays. It’s a feature that many players love as it allows them to get in-depth photos of their favorite games. The remake now has a photo mode so people can capture every gritty detail of their character as they fight through demons.<\/a><\/p>\n

With how amazing Bluepoint has made the remake look, photos from it are sure to be astounding. Players have already taken advantage of the multiple filters and effects to create some truly stunning screenshots.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Omnidirectional Rolling<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Oh,\u00a0Demon’s Souls.<\/em> The amazing game<\/a> that started the\u00a0Souls<\/em> series and inspired countless imitators. The game is known for plenty of things, mostly good but also a few bad, with rolling\u00a0belonging among the latter.<\/p>\n

The original’s\u00a0poor four direction rolling system made dodging enemy attacks hard. It was one of the things that increased the game’s difficulty in a frustrating way. Thankfully, players can\u00a0breathe a sigh of relief because omnidirectional rolling is in the remake.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Environmental Interaction<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

It may not be the most amazing enhancement, but it certainly makes the game feel more alive than ever before. Enemies and bosses<\/a> have been enhanced and are now capable of breaking the environment during fights.<\/p>\n

More items have been added to give more life to the world of\u00a0Demon’s Souls<\/em>, as it would be a shame if\u00a0it felt static and lifeless with nothing but demons everywhere. Along with this, Bluepoint has given more unique animations to weapons so they all feel different.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Carry Capacity<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

In the original game<\/a>, the carry system was great for players but horrible for the demons. Both the original and remake feature the Moon Grass items that can be used for healing. In the former, players could carry as much Moon Grass as they wanted without any repercussions.\u00a0Once again, great for the player, but unfair in some situations.<\/p>\n

For the remake, Bluepoint changed the system around so that each Moon Grass item has weight. It may not weigh much, but it does stop players from carrying hundreds of Moon Grass and being able to live forever.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Fractured Mode<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Fractured Mode is a new game mode<\/a> that allows players to take on the world of\u00a0Demon’s Souls<\/em> in a different way. Players can activate this mode in the Nexus by visiting the statue near where they spawn. This game mode takes the map and flips it horizontally.<\/p>\n

It changes everything and makes the game just a little bit harder than it already is. It is a magnificent addition to an already challenging game\u00a0that adds a welcome twist for veteran players.<\/p>\n
