Included in that pack is 80s action hero Rambo, as well as <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-11-mileena-gameplay\/\">returning <em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> veterans Mileena<\/a> and Rain. Now that players have had a little time to try out these characters, they are discovering interesting references in their movesets.<\/p>\n<p>One such reference that has caught peoples&#8217; attentions comes from a Rain Fatality. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-11-kombat-pack-2-rain-joke-kitana\/\">Rain was introduced in 1995&#8217;s <em>Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3<\/em><\/a>\u00a0after being a joke character meant to trick players into searching for a secret fighter who did not exist. In fact, NetherRealm Studios Creative Director Ed Boon told PlayStation Blog in 2011 that the purple ninja&#8217;s name and overall design was just a reference to Prince&#8217;s hit song &#8220;Purple Rain.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-kombat-11-rambo-vs-terminator\/\">Mortal Kombat 11 Trailers Pit Rambo Against The Terminator<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Understanding the musical history behind the character makes it more clear why one of Rain&#8217;s Fatalities in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/mortal-kombat-11\/\"><em>Mortal Kombat 11<\/em><\/a> would have an otherwise random Queen reference. In the Fatality animation, Rain blasts two gaping holes in his opponent using pressurized water jets. As the camera flies through the chest cavity to focus on the victor, he is joined by the ethereal heads of three others as a rock guitar stinger plays against a dark backdrop; clearly referencing the music video for &#8220;Bohemian Rhapsody.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/lSuper_\/status\/1328922516216180738?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Though Queen has an extensive catalog of iconic hits, &#8220;Bohemian Rhapsody&#8221; is no doubt one of, if not the band&#8217;s best-known songs &#8211; so much so that the <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/queen-bohemian-rhapsody-movie-critics\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">2018 Freddie Mercury biopic was named <em>Bohemian Rhapsody<\/em><\/a>. Fans of music and <em>Mortal Kombat<\/em> history should all be able to get behind this quick, fun tribute, which joins untold other references found in the various finishing moves across <em>MK11<\/em>&#8216;s ever-growing roster.<\/p>\n<p>Song references in Fatalities are not the only secrets hidden in the new content introduced by <em>Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate<\/em>.
