Genshin Impact<\/strong><\/em> recently added a slate of new content to the game with its Version 1.1 update. As players begin to explore the new quests and characters, they’ve also started to take note of some of the more elusive new additions, like the Golden Loach.<\/p>\n

While many players have focused on celebrating major additions to\u00a0Genshin Impact<\/em><\/a>, like the stylish Hydro brawler, Tartaglia, the update also included a plethora of minor subtle additions. Some of these additions include new harvestable resources, such as Bamboo Shoots, or the rather rare Golden Loach’s Pearl.<\/p>\n

Players hoping to find a Loach Pearl, which\u00a0allegedly possesses medicinal qualities, will have to track down a rare Golden Loach. These small lizard-like creatures were added to\u00a0Genshin Impact<\/em> as part of Version 1.1<\/a>, and it seems that they can be found on select shorelines in Liyue. As of now, there aren’t too many confirmed spawn locations, but players should be able to find a bare minimum of\u00a010 Loach Pearls per day using the\u00a0sites identified thus far.<\/p>\n

First of all, players should note that\u00a0the\u00a0Golden Loach doesn’t really appear to be gold in color. These small creatures resemble\u00a0a sort of white salamander-axolotl hybrid with red whiskers, and although they can swim, they generally like to hang out on Liyue\u00a0rocks or\u00a0shorelines<\/a>, just near\u00a0marshland\u00a0waters. They can be found in the Bishui Plains, near Stone Gate and throughout the Dihua Marsh.<\/p>\n

Three\u00a0of the known Golden Loach hotspots are found at the locations marked by small Loach Pearls on the map above. Namely, the eastern shore of the landmass between Liyue’s famous Wangshu Inn<\/a> and the Statue of Seven above it, and the west side of the northern\u00a0shore of\u00a0an island adjacent to that landmass. Players should be able to find roughly\u00a010 Golden Loaches in these spots alone, all of which will respawn after a day. A small isle just slightly northwest\u00a0of the aforementioned Statue of Seven\u00a0is also known to host Golden Loaches, so players may want to head there if they’re\u00a0in need of some extra pearls.<\/p>\n

To obtain a Loach Pearl, players simply have to chase after a Golden Loach and “harvest” it before it disappears,\u00a0as is done with butterflies,\u00a0or the Crystal Flies\u00a0found near\u00a0Statues of Seven<\/a> and other special locations. This will reward Travelers with one Loach Pearl per Golden Loach –\u00a0and\u00a0fret not, as it seems that Golden Loaches actually spit these mystical pearls out in self-defense, so\u00a0no loaches are harmed in the process.<\/p>\n

There is currently no use for Loach Pearls in the game, which is understandable given how recently it arrived. Most players speculate that Version 1.1\u00a0resources like Horsetail and Loach Pearls<\/a> will come into play as Ascension Materials, or perhaps Local Specialties, in future updates to\u00a0the game. So bearing that in mind, Travelers are encouraged to start collecting early.<\/p>\n

Genshin Impact\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is available now on the App Store, Google Play, PC, and PS4, and is currently in development for PS5 and Switch.<\/p>\n
