For the time being, players can still get their Thedas fix by replaying Inquisition and there are plenty of mods out there to keep the game feeling fresh.

Updated November 20th, 2020 by Meg Pelliccio: Back in August, Bioware teased Dragon Age fans with some new concept art of Dragon Age 4, giving a lot of food for thought as to what the next title will contain in terms of plot and characters. However, there may still be quite some time to wait until players can actually get hands-on with the next game, especially as development was already rebooted at least once. In the meantime, players can still enjoy the latest, and often-argued greatest, that the franchise has to offer, Dragon Age: Inquisition. For most fans, they’ve already played the game and explored it’s furthest reaches, but a decent mod or two could grant a whole new experience, so check out these top picks of PC mods.

16 Eggs Without Hats

One of the bugbears that fans had with Dragon Age: Inquisition was Solas’ ridiculous hat that he wears at the Winter Palace during the Wicked Eyes and Wicked Hearts chapter. While it might seem like a small thing, when players are romancing the mysterious elf, they don’t want him wearing a dorky hat.

Fortunately, the Eggs Without Hats Mod can solve this particular issue, and you can see Solas’ bald head in all its shiny glory. Even though the hat will be gone, when Solas is high-lighted by the player, its outline will still appear.

15 Blackwall – Warden Of The North

Blackwall is one of the party members in the game, and also serves as a potential love interest for the Inquisitor. If players have ever wondered what the Grey Warden looked like underneath his massive beard, the Blackwall – Warden of the North Mod has more than one option to give this character a little a makeover.

As well as being able to remove his beard for a more fresh-faced look, players can change up Blackwall’s hairstyle as well, with there even being the option to have him rock a mohawk.

14 Ardent Blossom Misc Store

The Ardent Blossom item is a much-coveted unique helmet with fans that is not exactly easy to obtain legitimately. This item is the reward for a side-quest that remained hidden from players for a very long time, which makes it even rarer as it’s not something players just organically find.

If players don’t feel like getting this item the proper way, the Ardent Blossom Misc Store Mod can help. The mod allows players to buy some rare items, at absolutely no cost, from the likes of Barnabus’ shop in Val Royeaux, as well as other vendors.

13 Dorian Post-Trespasser Hairstyle

For players of Dragon Age: Inquisition who purchased and played the Trespasser DLC, they’ll know that the end credits give some insight into what the characters got up to next. One example is Dorian heading back to Tevinter to take his father’s place in the magisterium, and he’s sporting a new hairstyle.

If players are looking to get this new look for their version of Dorian, there’s a mod that can help with that. The Dorian Post-Trespasser Hairstyle Mod offers up a hairstyle to match, with some artistic licensing of course.

12 Buttflap Be Gone

Players of Inquisition will know that the armor worn by the Inquisitor and their companions gives an unsightly “buttflap.” This isn’t just a cosmetic pet peeve with fans either, the flap of cloth often clips in and out of the character’s legs and ruins the sense of immersion that players have in the game.

Fortunately, the Buttflap Be Gone Mod eliminates this little issue and allows players to walk around with their character’s butt, as well as their companion’s butts, completely free of obstruction.

11 No More Fog of War

Like many other games, Dragon Age: Inquisition utilizes the fog of war feature for its maps. This prevents players from seeing the full map of areas until they have actually walked into all of it themselves. This of course adds some realism into the game in that as the Inquisitor you have to discover what is around you by exploring.

RELATED: 10 Ways Dragon Age II Aged Better Than Origins

However, if that realism isn’t for you and you’re desperate to know where everything is, the No More Fog of War mod has you covered, or uncovered as the case may be. This mod completely removes the fog of war from the game and allows players to see the entirety of every map regardless of how much they have actually explored.

10 Multiple Romance Mod

One of the fan-favorite features of the Dragon Age series is being able to romance your favorite characters and enter into a relationship with them. However, once you enter into a relationship with a companion or advisor, the game shuts down the flirting and possibility of entering into another relationship without first ending the one you’re in. The main thing fans dislike about this is losing out on some of the more interesting conversations as characters attempt to flirt with you.

The Multiple Romance Mod allows you to romance more than one character, so you can get your flirt on again or even enter into more than one relationship if you wish to. By installing the mod it prevents the game from flagging that your character is already in an active relationship.

9 DAI Community Patch

Every game has various bugs and issues that are generally fixed by the studio eventually. However, there are a couple of lingering bugs that Bioware has yet to address when it comes to Dragon Age: Inquisition and so the community has taken it upon itself to fix them.

The DAI Community Patch mod addresses certain bugs that players have been complaining about for a while, including mosaic pieces that are unobtainable due to their location in-game. This mod ensures that players can now collect all pieces by either moving them to another location or changing the Plot ID, allowing players to complete their mosaic back at Skyhold.

8 More Banter

One of the best bits of Dragon Age games is listening to the banter between your party members as you journey throughout Thedas. These conversations can be particularly amusing depending on your party make-up as some characters get along better than others, and some are downright snarky.

RELATED: Dragon Age Inquisition: 10 Things To Consider When Choosing A Race

The More Banter mod increases the amount of banter you get to hear, ensuring that banter happens roughly every 15 minutes. Usually, the game prompts a banter chance every 10 to 15 minutes with a randomizer of whether it is yes or no, but this mod removes the random effect ensuring that the game always picks to play the banter.

7 Trespasser Skyhold PJ Replacer and Schematics

One of the main pet peeves fans had about Dragon Age: Inquisition was that regardless of whatever awesome armor you had obtained for your Inquisitor, while in Skyhold you were stuck in the same beige outfit that fans referred to as “PJs”. The reason for this was apparently to avoid any romantic scenes where your love interest was accidentally impaled by spiked pauldrons.

Whilst Bioware did eventually release some more variations on the PJs in an update, the choices were still a bit lackluster. Fortunately, the Trespasser Skyhold PJ Replacer and Schematics mod allows players to change up their boring PJs with some of the rather awesome armor from the Trespasser DLC, as well as adding additional armor and schematic options.

6 Search Radius Increased

One of the features of Dragon Age: Inquisition is that players are able to use the search function to scout out nearby items of interest, such as crafting materials, treasure, or quest items. Players can increase the discovery range of the search function at the war table, but if you wanted to really upgrade the radius then there’s a mod that can help.

The Search Radius Increased mod not only increases the search radius by up to 100%, but it also removes the line of sight restriction. This allows players to detect items even if they are hidden behind a wall or above them somewhere out of sight.

5 War Table – No Waiting

An interesting new feature that Dragon Age: Inquisition added to the franchise was the war table, allowing players to send off characters to complete quests that furthered the storyline or earned new materials, items, or schematics. It can be particularly helpful when you’re low on crafting ingredients and don’t want to go and farm them yourself, but the wait times can be a pain.

RELATED: Dragon Age: 10 Best Pieces Of Fan Art That Remind Us Why We Love The Series

Each war table mission differs in the time it takes for the character to complete and also changes depending on which character you elect to send. However, the War Table – No Waiting mod makes all of the missions instantly completable so you don’t have to wait at all.

4 More Loot – Remade

Grinding for gold, gear, and crafting items can be a bit of a pain in any game and Dragon Age: Inquisition is no different. Fortunately, if you want to speed up the process and make it a little easier on yourself, there is a mod that can help.

The More Loot – Remade mod increases the drop rate of gold, armor, weapons, and other additional items. There are over 400 loot tables in the game, but this mod only affects just over 200 of them, so don’t expect consistent increases in all areas. Additionally, it will work in some parts of the DLC and not in others.

3 More Inquisition Levels

As players progress through the game they increase their influence and attain “power” points, which increases their Inquisition level and can be used to purchase Inquisition perks from the war table. These perks vary in what they have to offer, but all improve gameplay in some way, shape, or form. For example, increasing inventory size, reducing wait times on the war table, adding new schematics, and more.

While there are a total of 34 perks, the game limits your Inquisition rank to level 20, and therefore, you are unable to purchase all perks. The More Inquisition Levels mod increases this cap to rank 30, netting you 34 perk points and enabling you to purchase them all. However, you still need to grind out getting your influence to get to that level.

2 Increase Inventory Capacity

A pet peeve of any game is the restriction on inventory size; the last thing you want is to be deep in a dungeon and discover that you’ve reached your loot-carrying limits when there’s still plenty of good things to pick up. Additionally, with no shops in the middle of the deep roads, players generally have to choose which items to sacrifice in order to carry more.

While the game does have its own inventory upgrades, the Increase Inventory Capacity mod not only makes this easier but also increases the inventory size by a large amount.
