Luckily, it seems the answer is well on its way, with an official stream set to debut on December 8 allegedly sharing brand new details on what&#8217;s next for the iconic Japanese franchise.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/yakuza-like-dragon-story-release-date-editions\/\">Everything You Need to Know Before Buying Yakuza: Like a Dragon<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The announcement was made through the Ryu ga Gotoku Studio Twitter account, claiming that the stream will be held to celebrate the franchise&#8217;s fifteenth anniversary. It promises\u00a0several\u00a0fun <em>Yakuza<\/em>-focused activities, including bringing\u00a0the voice actors for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/yakuza-kazuma-kiryu-ichiban-kasuga-compared\/\">Kiryu Kazama\u00a0and Ichiban Kasuga<\/a> on board as guests\u00a0and\u00a0looking back at the franchise&#8217;s fifteen-year run. The final line is the most intriguing prospect of the stream, however, revealing that there will also be announcements regarding &#8220;future developments for the series.&#8221; Whether this is the announcement of some DLC or perhaps the next entry in the\u00a0<em>Yakuza\u00a0<\/em>story remains to be seen, so players should keep an eye on the December 8 anniversary showcase.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ryugagotoku\/status\/1329702580813852673\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>It seems likely that a sequel to\u00a0<em>Yakuza: Like a Dragon\u00a0<\/em>is in the works, especially seen as the last game in the series acted as something of a fresh start for the franchise, replacing its iconic protagonist Kiryu with brand new series staple Ichiban Kasuga. More crucially, the entire DNA of the series has been replaced, changing from a beat &#8217;em up action\u00a0game to a turn-based RPG. Evidently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/yakuza-like-a-dragon-rpg-change\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the team behind\u00a0<em>Yakuza\u00a0<\/em>want to take the series in a new direction<\/a>, and\u00a0it seems likely that&#8217;ll continue into sequels further down the line.<\/p>\n<p>As for now though,\u00a0<em>Yakuza: Like a Dragon\u00a0<\/em>has\u00a0arguably been one of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-xbox-series-x-launch-games\/\">the Xbox Series X&#8217;s more popular launch games<\/a>, offering a huge experience crammed full of mini-games, battles, and quirky side-missions. It&#8217;ll eventually come to the PlayStation 5 next year, with its stint as a Series X next-generation exclusive ending\u00a0relatively\u00a0soon. Outside of the video game world,\u00a0<em>Yakuza\u00a0<\/em>will also be hitting cinema screens around the world in the future, with a recent announcement revealing that a movie based on the game is currently in the works.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Yakuza: Like a Dragon\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is available now on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S.
