While the image implies the existence of a <em>Red Dead Redemption<\/em>\u00a0remake, bundled with a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-redemption-outlaws-collection-amazon-leak\/\">next-gen port of <em>Red Dead Redemption 2<\/em><\/a>, it is all very likely fake.<\/p>\n<p>Rumors regarding a potential remake or remaster of 2010&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/red-dead-redemption\/\"><em>Red Dead Redemption<\/em><\/a> have been\u00a0swirling\u00a0around for quite some time now. All of this was further fueled when Rockstar Games purchased Ruffian Games, the studio responsible for releasing <em>Halo: The Master Chief Collection<\/em>. If that wasn&#8217;t enough, the game was also <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/amazon-listing-may-leaked-red-dead-redemption-remastered-early\/\">recently listed on Amazon<\/a> with a price tag of $49.99 and a release date of December 10, 2020. Many started speculating that an announcement was set for this year&#8217;s The Game Awards that take place on the same day.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-redemption-3-prequel-arthur-morgan-roger-clark-return\/\">Red Dead Redemption 2: Actor Roger Clark Would Be Willing to Return as Arthur<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>While Rockstar Games never confirmed or denied these rumors, a new image surfaced that cited the existence of a <em>Red Dead Redemption: The Outlaws Collection<\/em> for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S. Unfortunately, this is certainly a hoax, as Kotaku&#8217;s Zack Zwiezen extensively explained on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>Starting off,\u00a0 Zweizen says that the creator probably searched for a high-quality PNG image of Arthur Morgan and John Marston and after some tweaking, planted it on the actual cover art from <em>Red Dead Redemption 2<\/em>. There are also weird black marks\u00a0on either side of the alleged cover art.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZwiezenZ\/status\/1330178381804163075?ref_src=https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-redemption-outlaw-collection-hoax\/twsrc%5Etfw%7Ctwcamp%5Etweetembed%7Ctwterm%5E1330179101618024462%7Ctwgr%5E&#038;ref_url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dualshockers.com%2Fred-dead-redemption-the-outlaws-collection-rumor-has-been-debunked%2F%22 frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>At this point, it&#8217;s pretty clear that the image is fake but there are further errors that need to be pointed out. Firstly, the PS5 version of the game is listed out as &#8220;Playstation 5&#8221; instead of &#8220;PlayStation 5,&#8221; which ignores the spelling convention for the Sony console brand. Also, as pointed by DualShockers, the return date for the game is listed earlier than the game&#8217;s release date.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ZwiezenZ\/status\/1330181259457343490\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While Rockstar Games&#8217; track record says otherwise, a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/red-dead-redemption-remake-rockstars-next-game\/\"><em>Red Dead Redemption<\/em>\u00a0remake won&#8217;t be that surprising<\/a>. Firstly, a huge chunk of the <em>Red Dead Redemption<\/em> map is present in <em>Red Dead Redemption 2 <\/em>including\u00a0some key\u00a0areas like\u00a0New Austin and New Elizabeth. So it seems rebuilding <em>Red Dead Redemption<\/em>\u00a0on the\u00a0assets of <em>Red Dead Redemption 2<\/em> may not prove to be that difficult for Rockstar Games.
