Viewed as a console ahead of its time, the love for the handheld has clearly not wavered, as the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/psp\/\">PSP<\/a> is currently trending on Twitter.<\/p>\n<p>This is not the first time the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/psp-trending-twitter-why\/\">PSP has hit the trending page<\/a>, as it did so back in July of this year. While it is surely a product of the time, with the platform making use of cheat code books, lacking media apps, and running slow, users gathered earlier this year to talk about all the things it did right. While many gamers were quick to praise <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sony-psp-best-games-ranked-metacritic\/\">the PSP\u2019s strong game lineup<\/a>, as well as highlight the portable console\u2019s features, the conversation seems to have been sparked by a single tweet from a user named @scruched. The gamer posted saying \u201ckids these days don\u2019t know nothing about these,\u201d showing off the PSP alongside a Gameboy Advance SP and Nintendo DS.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/heykelechi\/status\/1331162894164082688?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This quickly sparked nostalgia-filled discussions about the PSP, with gamers like @heykelechi bringing up how the system was \u201ca cultural reset\u201d and a \u201cclassic.\u201d However, one user named @aaronproduced was quick to point out users \u201cgiving the PS-Vita some disrespect.\u201d Pointing out the Vita\u2019s strong features, like the touch screens, cameras, and backwards compatibility, the twitter user makes some solid points <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/grand-theft-auto-3-ps-vita-port\/\">about the PlayStation Vita<\/a> and why it is also deserving of appreciation.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/aaronproduced\/status\/1331265287816159233?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While the PSP\u2019s successor had strong features and a solid set of games, the original PlayStation Portable remains the more popular of the two. While this is likely due to the low adoption rate of the Vita, as its hefty launch price and pricey memory cards hurt sales heavily, it is impressive to see that the PSP is still discussed so heavily well over a decade since it launched.
