As players begin their journey in <\/span>Red Dead Online<\/a>,<\/span><\/i> it is important to be wise with the little bit of money and gold bars<\/a> they have. The lackluster clothes and weapons outlaws start off with in <\/span>Red Dead Online<\/span><\/i> are not flashy, and spending money on the wrong things will set an outlaw back more than they can imagine.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Double Action Revolver<\/h2>\n

The Double Action Revolver<\/a> is not necessarily a bad firearm, it’s just not a good purchase for new outlaws. Outlaws start off with the Cattleman Revolver, whose stats are very similar to the Double Action Revolver. The first one is free. This revolver unlocks at Rank 17 and costs $127.00, or gold bars. This is expensive, considering its damage score is only 38 and range score of just 50. This gun has an overall score of a mere 58.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Emotes<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The variety of Emotes<\/a> in <\/span>Red Dead Online<\/span><\/i> are very attractive to new outlaws<\/span>. <\/span><\/i>\u00a0They add an aspect of flair to the game and give more depth to the customizing of a player\u2019s character. Emotes can be cool, but they do not add to an outlaw\u2019s ability to survive in the Wild West. They can also be expensive, costing up to 13 gold bars, which is a hefty sum for something that can not feed or protect players.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Evans Repeater<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

This repeater has an ammo capacity of 26 and a decent damage score of 50. The Evans Repeater is available at Rank 1, which is why many players buy this weapon without hesitation. Many new outlaws spend the $300 or 12 gold bars, not realizing the Carbine Repeater players start with is one of the best all-around repeaters in the game. <\/span><\/p>\n

It is much better to save that cash and purchase the Lancaster Repeater at Rank 12 for $243.00.<\/span><\/p>\n

7 <\/span>High Roller Revolver<\/h2>\n

Experienced outlaws either love or hate the High Roller Revolver. Some players believe it is worthless, yet others are happy to have it in their holster. The truth of the matter is, like the Double Action Revolver, it is overpriced considering players are given a great revolver from the start. With a fire rate score of 82, it\u2019s understandable why new outlaws purchase it, but its cost of $190, or gold bars, is an unnecessary expense for a beginner.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Gun Customization<\/h2>\n

Having the ability for outlaws to express themselves by carrying around a uniquely customized gun adds a certain level of cool to <\/span>Red Dead Online<\/span><\/i>. The only downside is that changing the metals and adding engraving to a player\u2019s favorite gun is expensive. An outlaw should also remember that changing a weapon\u2019s cosmetics does not upgrade the weapon\u2019s performance. The biggest mistake new outlaws<\/a> often make is focusing too much on appearances, rather than spending that money to buy equipment.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Large Camp<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Buying a Large Camp seems like a good idea when outlaws are excited about roaming the Wild West with a Posse. The sad part is that players quickly discover that playing with a large posse is rare, and going to camp with other players almost never happens. Upgrading to a Large Camp costs $200 to set up with a maintenance fee of $2 a day and holds seven players, which is a lot for something a player may never use.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Lock Breaker<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The lock breaker is near the top of the list of useless items in <\/span>Red Dead Online<\/span><\/i>. Unlike in<\/span> Red Dead Redemption 2, <\/span><\/i>story mode stealth is not important when it comes to robbing carriages and homes. Furthermore, all locks in <\/span>Red Dead Online<\/span><\/i> can be shot off or blown up with dynamite. This makes the lock breaker completely irrelevant and a waste of money. Players can buy it at the fence for $100, but most outlaws regret the purchase.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Provisions<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Buying provisions is a huge mistake the desperate beginner <\/a>often makes in <\/span>Red Dead Online.<\/span><\/i> There are so many different wild animals that can provide food to a struggling outlaw for next to nothing. Outlaws tend to undervalue the ability to cook their own meat and the advantages of adding different herbs for gold cores. <\/span><\/p>\n

The Rare Shotgun is a slightly different variant of the Double Barrel Shotgun. This firearm can be bought at rank one and costs $258 or 11 gold bars. Occasionally, new outlaws buy this weapon not understanding the Double Barrel Shotgun that unlocks at Rank 30 has the exact same stats for nearly $100 cheaper. There is also the Pump Action Shotgun that unlocks at Rank 5 and costs $266.40, or 11 gold bars, with an ammo capacity of five.<\/span><\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Small Game Arrows<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Many experienced outlaws are frustrated with the weak performance of Small Game Arrows. Small Game Arrows sound appealing to beginners who want to rack in perfect pelts of the little critters running all around the Wild West. The problem with Small Game Arrows is that they are rarely effective against anything but frogs, ducks, or snakes. It is a much better investment to simply purchase the very cheap Varmint Rifle at Rank 8, which costs $72, or 3 gold bars.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n
