It may be a while still before people will be able to head back to real-world theme parks<\/a> safely, but for the time being, indie developer Texel Raptor will soon have a way for people to get that communal theme park experience from home, courtesy of its park-management sim Parkitect<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Ever since it first released in 2018, Parkitect<\/em> has ranked high among the park-building games of recent years (and virtual life simulation games in general<\/a>) for how it builds upon the likes of Rollercoaster Tycoon<\/em> with its own distinct twists, such as more powerful construction tools and a greater focus on the behind-the-scenes park operations. Joining these features will be full-on multiplayer, which will be coming to the game in a free update on December 8.<\/p>\n

When the update goes live, up to eight players will be able to join up for an online co-op session and work together to build up their own custom theme park, with the changes every player makes becoming visible in real-time. A new lobby system will make it easy for players to get together, though Steam players will be able to invite friends directly. Texel Raptor will show these features off in a preview stream for the multiplayer mode on Steam tomorrow at 8:30 AM PST.<\/p>\n
