During yesterday’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, the Pok\u00e9mon Company International revealed its 25th anniversary logo. Accompanied by a giant Pikachu parade balloon, a dance troupe of Pikachu and trainers performed a short routine to an instrumental version of “Gotta Catch ‘Em All” before unveiling the logo that you see above.<\/p>\n

While we already know that a new Pok\u00e9mon Snap\u00a0is coming to Switch at some point in the future<\/a>, it’s likely we’ll learn a lot more about what’s next for the Pok\u00e9mon franchise beyond that.\u00a0With the series’\u00a0original Japanese launch happening on February 27, 1996, the Pok\u00e9mon Company International dubbed February 27 “Pok\u00e9mon Day” and has made a tradition\u00a0of holding special events on that day.<\/p>\n

In previous years, we’ve seen Pok\u00e9mon Day announcements including Pok\u00e9mon Sun & Moon and\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Sword & Shield, special digital goodies like Snapchat filters, and releases like Pok\u00e9mon Red, Blue, & Yellow on the 3DS eShop and Mewtwo Strikes Back \u2013 Evolution\u00a0<\/em>on Netflix.\u00a0While the Pok\u00e9mon Company has not specified that we’ll hear more about its 25th anniversary plans on February 27, 2021, that’s a good bet for when players should expect a significant news drop.\u00a0<\/p>\n

We’ve already seen how Nintendo commemorates the 35th anniversary of its flagship Super Mario franchise<\/a>, and we’ve listed what we’d like from a Zelda 35th anniversary celebration<\/a>.
