The character is seen in practically everything from coffee mugs to movie screens all over. However, the Man Of Steel has also tried his hand in video games. Although not all of them were successes, with his appearance during the N64 being his most infamous<\/a>. However, there might be some diamonds in the rough somewhere.<\/p>\n

Here are the five best and worst games in the Man Of Steels lineup. This will be judged based on the best versions of the respective games. This will also be judged based on all of the appearances where he is playable.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Best: Lego DC Supervillains For PC – 76%<\/h2>\n

Lego DC Supervillains<\/em><\/a> is a video game that is exactly what many fans would expect. A game focused on the antagonists of the DC universe. Battling against supervillains who are pretending to be superheroes, the game is generally similar to other Lego games that came before it.<\/p>\n

Released on 2002, Superman Shadow Of Apokolips<\/em> is a video game that is based on the Superman: The Animated Series<\/em> Tv show. Consisting of a series of cutscenes and voice acting from the original TV show, it is like the cartoon came back to life. However, the game was held back due to the mission like structure. Not only that, but critics felt that the mechanics weren’t good and really held back what the game could’ve been capable of.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Best: Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe For PS3 – 76%<\/h2>\n

One of the most interesting crossovers that ended up laying down the foundations for the Injustice franchise. Mortal Kombat Vs DC Universe<\/em><\/a> is a story about two universes that eventually collide due to an anomaly where both Shao Khan and Darkseid get defeated at the same time. Featuring two perspectives, the game has the classic Mortal Kombat<\/em><\/a> formula that pairs the DC characters in a way that is somewhat decent. Although Injustice improved on these mechanics, it’s interesting to see where it all started.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Worst: Superman For iOS – 56%<\/h2>\n

Superman<\/em> for iOS is a game that doesn’t\u00a0have a lot going for it.\u00a0 The player is able to control the Man Of Steel as he is transversing through eighteen levels of gameplay. Stopping anyone from general thugs to Lex Luthor, the game allows the player to use Superman’s abilities from flight to heat vision. However, in spite of that, the game was heavily criticized for being quite mediocre. While it is decent fun within small bursts, critics felt that’s all there was to it.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Best: Lego Batman 2: DC Superheroes For PC – 81%<\/h2>\n

This is a\u00a0DC Lego game, where players get to play not just Batman but an onslaught of heroic characters. Superman being notably one of them. The game takes place within an open-world Gotham City, with a total of seventy-five characters. Each character has a unique element to them, which allows them to be quite distinct. Superman, for example, plays his theme song when using him in the air. Which is a nice touch.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Worst: Superman Returns For X360 – 51%<\/h2>\n

A game adaptation of the film of the same name, Superman Returns<\/em> had a lot of potential going for it. With a large free-roaming map, due to the characters inherent invulnerability, the health bar is with Metropolis itself. Because of this, the game forces the player to be creative with their powers when it comes to managing Superman. In spite of this, critics didn’t look at the game favourably as they felt that the controls and incredibly bland enemies prevent this game from being any good<\/a>.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Best: Injustice For Wii U – 82%<\/h2>\n

One of the premier fighting games for the DC universe, Injustice<\/em><\/a> was created by Netherrealm Studios who are responsible for the Mortal Kombat<\/em> franchise. Injustice is the collision between one earth against another, as the DC superheroes fight against the regime ruled by a tyrannical evil Superman<\/a>.<\/p>\n

With strong gameplay and an engaging story for everyone to follow, it utilized the foundation from Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe<\/em> and expanded on it.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Worst: Superman: Countdown to Apokolips For GBA – 47%<\/h2>\n

Acting as a prequel to Superman: Shadow Of Apokolips<\/em>, this game is a Gameboy Advance title that focuses on the character dealing with Darkseid’s minions. Facing off against some villains from his rogues’ gallery, this game was critically panned. In spite of the graphics getting some recognition, critics felt that the repetitive nature of the games isometric gameplay prevented it from being any good.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Best: Injustice 2 For Xbox One – 89%<\/h2>\n

Improving upon what the original Injustice<\/em> did for players, the sequel delivers in full force. Not only does it improve everything from a gameplay standpoint, but the gear system has also made the game become more addicting. Being one of the highest-grossing games in 2017.<\/a><\/p>\n

The game’s plot focuses on the heroes as they are forced to band together once more in order to face off the powerful threat, Brainiac. The game was praised for its storytelling and presentation, with the game-winning numerous awards including best fighting game. Now fans are clamoring for any news on a potential sequel.<\/a><\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Worst: Superman: The Man Of Steel For Xbox – 44%<\/h2>\n

Superman: The Man Of Steel<\/em> was developed by Circus Freak and focuses on the plot outlined by a comic story called Superman: Y2k<\/em>. Following the events where Metropolis is turned into a literal city of tomorrow, Superman has to stop chaos from unfolding when Brainiac 13 returns to take back the techno virus that made Metropolis so futuristic.<\/p>\n

The game was heavily panned by critics and fans alike, with many clamouring that the controls of the game were not strong at all. Let alone the gameplay being repetitive with its timed mission-based levels.<\/p>\n
