The upcoming single-player AAA game\u00a0Project EVE<\/strong><\/em>, from Korean developer Shift Up, has gotten new screenshots along with a press release detailing more information. This action-adventure hack-and-slash video game<\/a> will be filled with style, if this new look is any indication.<\/p>\n

With several companies like\u00a0Xbox looking to focus on single-player games,<\/a>\u00a0Project EVE <\/em>seems to be in development at a good time. Gamers are looking for more AAA titles with deep single-player experiences, as evidenced by the success of titles like\u00a0Red Dead Redemption 2<\/em>,\u00a0Ghost of Tsushima,<\/em> and\u00a0Breath of the Wild<\/em>.<\/p>\n

According to the press release, it seem\u00a0Project EVE\u00a0<\/em>is in development for the PS5 and Xbox Series X. Along with the new screenshots, Shift Up also released a boss battle video that includes real-time battle graphics. It shows a type of Ghost of Tsushima<\/em>-esque\u00a0strategic fighting style<\/a> with a dash of Devil May<\/em> Cry’s\u00a0<\/em>hack-and-slash. This, alongside its\u00a0next-gen graphics, make\u00a0the title\u00a0potentially worth keeping an eye on.<\/p>\n

Project EVE<\/em>\u00a0was not given a release date, or even a release year in the press release. It will be a surprise if this title ends up available for the PS4, Xbox One, mobile or the Switch; as the graphics\u00a0appear to be so intensive that Project EVE\u00a0<\/em>will most likely only be available for the\u00a0PS5<\/a>\u00a0or Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n

Studio founder Kim Hyung Tae describes this project as a “console-based multi-platform action game aiming for high graphic quality and extreme action” in the press release. With the company’s focus on consoles,\u00a0time will tell whether it also gets a release for\u00a0PC.<\/p>\n

There doesn’t appear to be much of a story that anyone outside of Shift Up can make out just yet for Project EVE<\/em>. So far, what has been revealed is that the main character is a woman named Eve who is battling Natives, evil monsters that plague the post-apocalyptic city in which she lives. Eve’s character design was created by Hyung Tae, who is also known for doing the character designs for the game Blade & Soul<\/em>, a free-to-play mobile MMORPG<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n
