With a single tweet, the popular video game streamer elicited thousands of comments, many of them supportive and more than a few offended.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier this week, after boasting about his over-the-top gaming configuration, which includes three state-of-the-art monitors, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/mechanical-keyboard-building-how-to-feature\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">mechanical keyboard<\/a> with Titan switches, and a $200,000 multi-PC setup, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/dr-disrespect-ban-twitch-shroud\/\">Dr Disrespect<\/a> concluded by questioning how players have \u201cthe guts to tell me mobile gaming is a serious thing?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-warzone-build-loadout-attachments-dr-disrespect\/\">Dr Disrespect Reveals His Call of Duty: Warzone MP5 Loadout<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Understandably, quite a few mobile gamers, many of whom play professionally and earn a good living playing on the platform derided by Dr Disrespect, were not happy about the comment. Among those to respond was <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-mobile\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Mobile<\/em><\/a> player Luke \u201ciFerg\u201d Fergie, who challenged the PC gamer to a 1v1 match for $100,000. Dr Disrespect would play on his top-of-the-line PC gaming rig while iFerg would face him on mobile. The mobile player clarified, \u201cNo aim assist 1v1 btw.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Whether this challenge was originally intended to be taken seriously, it soon grew into a social media movement. Viewers began visiting Dr Disrespect\u2019s channel as he streamed live on YouTube, leaving comments of \u201c1v1 ferg\u201d in the chat. The constant influx of comments eventually led to the streamer limiting his chat to members only. In response, iFerg tweeted: \u201cWhat\u2019s the problem, Doc, Mobile players getting the better of you?\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/JakeSucky\/status\/1332364682485784576\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As of yet, there\u2019s no indication whether Dr Disrespect will ultimately take up the gauntlet thrown down by iFerg, but it\u2019s likely the goading from viewers supporting the face-off will continue until he responds in some definitive manner.<\/p>\n<p>IFerg wasn\u2019t the only mobile gamer to be riled up by Dr Disrespect\u2019s comment either. The captain of XSET\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/pubg-mobile-india-announced-secure-healthy-gameplay\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PUBG Mobile<\/a> division, juicyfruitz, responded to the YouTuber by claiming that playing on mobile \u201cis just to [sic] difficult for your old crusty ass fingers to navigate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mobile content creator Elijah Jackson called out Dr Disrepect for his tweet as well, wondering why the PC gamer had spent $200,000 just to do something that a $600 mobile device could accomplish. Taking it one step further, he then also challenged Dr Disrespect to a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-mobile-best-worst-assault-rifles\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Mobile <\/em>1v1 match<\/a>, offering up $10,000 for the pot. \u201cSeriously, anywhere, anytime,\u201d Jackson goaded. \u201cUnlike you, I really can do that on my system.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps provoking an entire subset of the gaming community is not the best idea, but it\u2019s not the first time Dr Disrespect has shown disdain for mobile gaming and it likely won\u2019t be the last. The long-time streamer has caused PC gamers to challenge him in the past as well.
