In fact,\u00a0<em>New Horizons<\/em> is now a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/game-awards-2020-goty-final-fanasy-last-us-2-ghost-tsushima-hades-doom-eternal\/\">candidate for 2020\u2019s Game of the Year award<\/a> at The Game Awards.<\/p>\n<p>Even today, <em>Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em> and its related peripherals are still getting updated. Now, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/animal-crossing-new-horizons\/\"><em>Animal Crossing: New Horizon<\/em><\/a>\u00a0NookLink smartphone companion app has been updated with a handy feature relating to the in-game catalogue.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED<\/strong>:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/animal-crossing-new-horizons-six-million-sales-japan-november-2020\/\"><strong>Animal Crossing: New Horizons Passes Six Million Sales in Japan<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>For those players who don\u2019t use the Nintendo Switch Online smartphone app, it has some\u00a0use for a number of the Switch\u2019s best games. One of the most helpful apps relates to <em>Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em>, and lets players keep track of in-game statistics right from player\u2019s phones. Now, players can use the NookLink app to search for and check their in-game catalogue without having to access the game. Players who do a ton of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/animal-crossing-new-horizons-nook-shopping-app-get-unlock-how\/\">shopping in <em>New Horizons<\/em><\/a> are going to find this feature very helpful.<\/p>\n<p>One interesting thing about the in-game catalogue is that it actually keeps track of some rare collectables as well as everyday furniture items. Specifically, the catalogue keeps track of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/redd-fake-art-only-animal-crossing-new-horizons\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Redd\u2019s paintings and statues in <em>New Horizons<\/em><\/a>, meaning players can easily keep track of whatever museum items they have already purchased. Additionally, players visiting a friend who has Crazy Redd on their island can use the catalogue app to easily check if they own any of the pieces Redd has for sale.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/animalcrossing\/status\/1333502993384271873\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The catalogue may not be the most organized system in <em>New Horizons<\/em>, but it is still helpful when managing one\u2019s overall furniture collection. If players have taken advantage of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/animal-crossing-new-horizons-expand-storage-november-2020\/\"><em>New Horizon<\/em>\u2019s newly expanded storage space<\/a>, they may have over 2,000 in-game items to keep track of. All in all, the new catalogue app makes for another helpful addition to NookLink\u2019s growing repertoire of functions. With any luck, Nintendo will keep updating the app with even more features like this one.<\/p>\n<p>Odds are, Nintendo will keep the NookLink app updated for some time considering <em>Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em> is still getting updated almost a year after release. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/animal-crossing-new-horizons-january-update-confirmed\/\"><em>New Horizons<\/em>\u2019 next big update<\/a> is scheduled to happen in January. Most likely, some sort of Valentine&#8217;s Day update will happen after that, as player\u2019s islands start slowly transitioning into new seasons.
