Collectibles such as Entropic Shards and dead Exos that unlock powerful Stasis Aspects and the Lament Exotic Sword have been discovered by the community.

RELATED: 10 Things You Didn’t Know You Could Do In Destiny 2: Beyond Light

Those secrets are rather well known at this point, but plenty of smaller details were added or altered in this expansion that many players have yet to notice. Nearly everything from the UI to older raids have seen some sort of change in this expansion. From lighting changes to content from the original Destiny, here are a few particularly well-hidden details most players missed in Destiny 2: Beyond Light.

10 UI Changes

Now that Guardians can embrace the Darkness with the new Stasis Subclass, it is rather fitting that Bungie updated the UI to accompany this change. Most menus now have a dark background instead of a blinding white that was present previously.

While that change is rather obvious to veteran players, what is much more subtle is the way the inventory UI changes based on a player’s chosen Subclass. Choosing a Darkness Subclass will cause the menu to become a dark blue color while choosing a Light-based Subclass will light up the menu, shining a light on the player’s Guardian. It’s a subtle detail that many players haven’t noticed.

9 Lighting Changes

Bungie has altered the lighting of Destiny 2 with the release of Beyond Light, a change that was only briefly mentioned in the expansion’s patch notes. These lighting changes are far from subtle, however.

Dawn and dusk have a greater amount of environmental fog and more colorful hues, a change that is most noticeable in the Tower. Daytime seems much brighter than it did previously while interiors are overall darker. For those that wondered why Destiny 2 looks somewhat different than before, this is most likely why. Unfortunately, it seems these lighting changes are the reason why HDR is currently not working as intended.

8 The Nessus Barge Crashed

Emperor Calus and his giant fish ship—known as the Leviathan by most—might have left the solar system following the release of Beyond Light, but that doesn’t mean that its presence was removed entirely.

The Nessus Barge, a small ship introduced during Season of Opulence, still remains on Nessus as a crashed prop. Traveling to Watcher’s Grave will reveal the ship crashed to the left of where it once was. Strangely, Benedict-44 is missing from the wreck. Perhaps Benedict fled with Calus before the Darkness arrived?

7 No Time To Explain’s Description

No Time to Explain was an Exotic Pulse Rifle in the original Destiny that was given to the player character by the Exo Stranger herself. Disregarding its perk changes seen in Destiny 2, one of the most interesting changes Bungie made to the Exotic lies in a single word change in its weapon description.

RELATED: Destiny 2: 10 Best Hand Cannons, Ranked

In the original, the gun’s description stated, “A single word is etched onto the inside of the weapon’s casing: ‘Soon.'” In Destiny 2, the description has remained the same except the word inside the weapon’s casing says “now” instead of “soon.” This is a subtle change that only veteran Destiny players will notice.

6 Drifter’s Rebreather Moves When He Talks

Some players might not know that the Drifter and Eris Morn sit by the campfire in Beyond during the Beyond Light campaign, granting small snippets of dialogue when interacted with. That in of itself is a detail some players miss entirely.

What most players miss is the Drifter’s lip-syncing during his dialogue. Since he is wearing a rebreather, the bottom portion of it moves whenever the Drifter moves his mouth. It’s a strange detail that can’t be unseen once experienced. For those that have already finished the campaign, this YouTube video from A Villainous Toaster gives a good demonstration of how strange this looks.

5 Oracle Sounds In Last Wish

It seems that the Dreaming City still has a few more secrets for the community to uncover over the course of this year. Oracle sounds from the Vault of Glass raid have made their way into the Last Wish raid. These sounds can be typically found in between main encounters such as the geode tunnel just before Kalli or the bridge before Shuro Chi. It is unknown why Oracle sounds are appearing in the Last Wish raid. Whatever the reason, it seems the Dreaming City will play a role in how players access the Vault of Glass raid.

4 The Crow’s Name

Now that Season of the Hunt has revealed what Uldren Sov has been up to since he was brought back as a Guardian, many players might feel a sense of Déjà vu hearing his new name “Crow.”

RELATED: 5 Things We Love About Destiny 2: Beyond Light (& 5 Things We Don’t)

That feeling is warranted; leaks and old footage from the original Destiny show that the game was going to have a radically different plot that involved an Awoken character named Crow. This Crow character used the same character model as Uldren Sov does in retail. Bungie could very well be working their way back to the original storyline Destiny was planned to ship with. At the very least, renaming Uldren Sov as Crow is one hell of a coincidence.

3 Invisibility Is Consistent Now

Not all invisibility effects are created equal in Destiny 2, at least they weren’t. Originally, invisibility effects provided from Way of the Pathfinder’s Vanishing Smoke as well as Rat King’s invisibility took around one to two seconds for enemies to drop aggro on the player. In other words, these invisibility effects were rather lackluster when used as panic buttons.

Beyond Light seems to have made a change to invisibility effects. Now all invisibility effects cause enemies to immediately stop shooting the player. Note that Shriekers and any enemy projectiles that track will continue to follow the player even after they’re invisible. Regardless, this is a massive buff to bottom tree Nightstalker that went undocumented in Beyond Light’s patch notes.

2 Heroic Patrols

Season of the Worthy’s Legendary Lost Sectors made a return in the Beyond Light expansion. Europa and the Cosmodrome’s Lost Sectors have difficulty modes that rotate daily, allowing players to farm Exotics for certain armor slots.

What some players might not realize is that patrols also got Heroic variants. They are currently tied to Europa and can only be found in eclipsed zones. Complete a few patrols in an eclipsed zone until a new patrol spawns with a golden border around it. This is a Heroic variant, which will grant a guaranteed blue item and a few Herealways Pieces.
