The Pok\u00e9mon<\/a> games are full of pocket monsters that don\u2019t quite fit the way that they\u2019re classified and the fans of every generation are always quick to call out Game Freak when they think a Pok\u00e9mon is the wrong type. From fire breathing dragons that aren\u2019t actually dragons at all to psychic ducks that aren\u2019t actually psychic type, fans are up in arms about a handful of monsters.<\/span><\/p>\n

Electric types<\/a> aren\u2019t just Pikachu and the other electric rodents<\/a>, but it isn’t immune to this ever-present conundrum of incorrect typing. Many Pok\u00e9mon seem like they oughta have some electricity coming out of them; whether it’s their appearance, abilities, or just their move sets.<\/span><\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Mega Aggron<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Aggron is the rock and steel type tunneller<\/a> first introduced through the Hoenn region in Pok\u00e9mon Ruby and Sapphire. With Mega-Evolution brought to the region in Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, Aggron received a curious Mega form that lost its rock typing. Why not take this a step farther and give Mega Aggron electric steel typing. With the Filter ability decreasing damage from super-effective attacks, four times weakness from ground type attacks would be partially mitigated and Aggron would gain helpful typing against pesky water types.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The steel gear trio introduced in Generation 5 each form adds bigger and better gears to this multipart evolution line. The gears float in the air and each evolution adds another piece to this rotating puzzle. The gears on the evolution line constantly spin producing\u2026 you guessed it. Electricity. This line being steel and electric type just makes perfect sense. Further, Kilklang\u2019s moveset is just as much electric type attacks as it is steel. On top of all that, the line has the abilities Plus and Minus, which function like the plus and minus ends of a battery.<\/span><\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Duraludon (Gigantamax)<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

One of the latest dragon type additions to the Pok\u00e9mon franchise, Duraludon, is a dragon and steel Pok\u00e9mon that can Gigantamax into a massive skyscraper. Duraludon\u2019s gigantamax form rockets into the air with a tall lightning rod at its peak. <\/span><\/p>\n

The swirling storm that surrounds a dynamaxed or gigantamaxed Pok\u00e9mon in the Galar region is reason enough to turn Duraludon from a steel and dragon type into a dragon and electric type or steel and electric type. Further, Duraludon has glowing yellow eyes and that has to be some sort of sign\u2026 Right?<\/span><\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Genesect<\/h2>\n

The robotic legendary from the Unova region is the bug and steel type Pok\u00e9mon, Genesect. As a robotic recreation of a long-extinct bug type pokemon, it would make sense for Genesect to be a steel type. However, it makes far more sense for it to be an electric type instead! With the ability to download hard-drives and change the typing of its signature moves, electricity must be coursing through this Pok\u00e9mon\u2019s very vein! Or whatever vein substitute robot bugs have\u2026 Wires maybe? Either way, Genesect would have a much more interesting design as an electric type rather than a steel type.<\/span><\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Porygon, Porygon-2, and Porygon-Z<\/h2>\n

The virtual Pok\u00e9mon, Porygon, gained evolutions as the Pok\u00e9mon games gained improved graphics. With the additions of Porygon-2 and Porygon-Z, it is increasingly clear that this evolutionary line shouldn\u2019t be normal types at all, but instead, they should all be electric types. Or even electric and normal types! But for them to be just the normal type seems wrong. The three are virtual programs that couldn\u2019t exist without electricity after all. Especially with their heavy reliance on the Zap Cannon electric type attack, it would really make a lot of sense for them to share this shocking typing.<\/span><\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Cobalion<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The steel and fighting type Cobalion is the iron will Pok\u00e9mon and a stalwart member of the swords of justice, Generation 5\u2019s new legendary trio.<\/a> Cobalion should be an electric type for a couple of reasons. Firstly, it has a light blue coloring that some might even call an \u201celectric blue\u201d that is far more reminiscent of lightning energy than steel. Secondly, Cobalion\u2019s name is a play on the metal substance Cobalt, and while yes, it is a metal, it is most commonly used in the structure of batteries! Lastly, Cobalion has yellow\/orange detailing across its body including two lightning bolt-shaped horns on its head. It just screams electric type.<\/span><\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Meltan and Melmetal<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The hex nut Pok\u00e9mon, Meltan and Melmetal, are two new steel type legendaries introduced through Pok\u00e9monGo and the Let\u2019s Go games. Meltan\u2019s design screams \u201cmodern electric type\u201d as a yellow bolt with a gooey metallic substance forming its body, but beyond its appearance, its statistical design seems like an electric type as well. <\/span><\/p>\n

Out of the 7 attacks that Meltan learns<\/a>, 2 of them are electric type! (That\u2019s more than the one and only steel type attack it learns, Flash Cannon). On top of that, it has the Magnet Pull ability which stops steel types from escaping battle. Magnets. Electricity. Science. Boom. Meltan and Melmetal should be electric types.<\/span><\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Cinderace<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Prior to the release of Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/a>, fans speculated wildly about the secondary typing of the Galar starters. Many feared that Cinderace would be another fire and fighting type, like so many before it. But a select few fans hoped, prayed even, that the new fire type might be a fire and electric type, and for a while, it seemed that this might finally be a reality. With yellow streaks across its design, a Sonic-speed running animation<\/a>, and a heart full of racing energy, our hopes were dashed as Cinderace turned out to be a plain fire-type Pok\u00e9mon.<\/span><\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Probopass<\/h2>\n

1 <\/span>Mega Sceptile<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The grass and dragon type mega evolution of the Hoenn starter Sceptile was first introduced in the Hoenn remakes Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby. Sceptile\u2019s mega evolution has glowing bulbs on its back and an X-mas tree looking tail that acts as a pseudo tesla coil. <\/span><\/p>\n

This design itself speaks to the fact that Mega-Sceptile should be an electric type, but to top it off, it gains the ability Lightning Rod. This ability lets Mega-Sceptile absorb electric type attacks, a trait that would certainly be fitting if it actually was an electric type (which it isn\u2019t).<\/span><\/p>\n
