Renown for its jaw-dropping world premieres and coveted awards, it&#8217;s a night that celebrates some of this year&#8217;s biggest accomplishments in the gaming space, whether that&#8217;s through its tech-based trophies, its story-focused accolades, or its coveted <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-last-of-us-2-golden-joysticks-game-of-the-year\/\">Game of the Year Award<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Fans already know that some big names will be hosting during the event, including <em>Spider-Man<\/em>\u00a0star and future live-action Nathan Drake, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/uncharteds-tom-holland-will-present-game-awards\/\">Tom Holland<\/a>,\u00a0as well as\u00a0<em>Wonder Woman&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em>Gal Gadot. Joining them will be a third superhero icon,\u00a0with The Game Awards&#8217; Twitter account confirming that\u00a0<em>Captain Marvel&#8217;s\u00a0<\/em>Brie Larson is set to take to the stage as a presenter.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-game-awards-2020-digital-geoff-keighley\/\">Geoff Keighley Explains How The Game Awards Will Look This Year<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Starring in a number of\u00a0action-packed Hollywood blockbusters like\u00a0<em>Avengers: Endgame<\/em>\u00a0and<em> Kong: Skull Island,\u00a0<\/em>as well as a variety of smaller gems like Ben Wheatley&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Free Fire\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Lenny Abrahamson&#8217;s\u00a0<em>Room,\u00a0<\/em>Larson has become a\u00a0more prominent\u00a0figure in the gaming world\u00a0this year. She&#8217;s\u00a0been a huge advocate for\u00a0<em>Animal Crossing: New Horizons,\u00a0<\/em>even featuring recently in one of Nintendo&#8217;s ads.\u00a0She also discussed her love for\u00a0<em>Breath of the Wild\u00a0<\/em>on Hot Ones and was a prominent guest on Gary Whitta&#8217;s Animal Talking, even revealing that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/brie-larson-samus-metroid-movie\/\">she&#8217;d love to play Samus in a\u00a0<em>Metroid\u00a0<\/em>movie<\/a>. It feels fitting for her to join Keighley and his roster of great guests heading into next Thursday&#8217;s event.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/brielarson\/status\/1334650680003284992\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>As mentioned prior, Larson joins an already stacked roster\u00a0of guest stars.\u00a0Alongside the likes of Tom Holland and Gal Gadot, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/pearl-jams-eddie-vedder-will-be-performing-at-the-game-awards\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pearl Jam&#8217;s Eddie Vedder<\/a> will be taking to the stage as well as\u00a0Swedish Chef from the\u00a0<em>Muppets,\u00a0<\/em>who is sure to bring the franchise&#8217;s wacky antics to the event. A next-generation focused panel\u00a0will also be broadcast, featuring some of the industry&#8217;s biggest names, including Head of Xbox Phil Spencer, Chief Studios Officer of EA Laura Miele, and CEO of AMD Dr. Lisa Su.<\/p>\n<p>The event itself will see some of this year&#8217;s biggest games crowned, with the likes of\u00a0<em>Fall Guys, Among Us, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Half-Life: Alyx, Assassin&#8217;s Creed Valhalla,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Ori and the Will of the Wisps\u00a0<\/em>all nominated for awards. The big showdown will be between\u00a0<em>Doom Eternal, Last of Us 2, Final Fantasy 7 Remake, Hades, Animal Crossing: New Horizons,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Ghost of Tsushima,\u00a0<\/em>however, with the six games battling it out for Game of the Year.
