A spin-off of\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead<\/em> AMC show,\u00a0<em>Fear the Walking Dead\u00a0<\/em>began as a prequel to the original show, but is now set in the same time frame, and features the occasionally crossover. While the show had a rocky reception with season 5, it seems that season 6 picked up the pace and was better received overall, leading to AMC deciding to continue investing in the series.<\/p>\n<p>The original\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead<\/em> show is easily one of the biggest shows AMC produced, being a big hit for the company both critically and commercially. As that show is scheduled to end sometime in 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-walking-dead-final-season-daryl-carol-spin-off\/\">with the 11th and final season<\/a>, it seems AMC has no intention of letting the brand go.\u00a0<em>Fear the Walking Dead\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead: World Beyond<\/em> are already primed to fill the shoes left behind by the main show, with even more\u00a0<em>Walking Dead<\/em> projects on the way, including a spin off featuring Daryl and Carol from the original show.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/films-nightmare-make\/\">Films That Were a Nightmare to Make<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Based on the original comic series by Robert Kirkman,\u00a0<em>The Walking Dead<\/em> is the preeminent zombie story of the modern era. The show uses zombies as less of a constant threat, and more of a looming disaster in order to force the characters in the world to adapt and clash with each other. Stories in the\u00a0<em>Walking Dead\u00a0<\/em>universe, whether they are <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/last-us-2-ellie-vs-walking-dead-clementine\/\">video games, comics, or TV shows<\/a>, are less about fighting off hordes of undead nightmares, and more about what it means to survive with other people in a hostile world.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheWalkingDead\/status\/1334586564446285824?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The series is also famous for <a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/walking-dead-world-beyond-season-2-rick-grimes-appear\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">killing off even beloved characters<\/a>. While some people do get to stick around for a very long time, pretty much every version of the property will end up surprising audiences with a shocking death or two. Some have criticized the various shows for becoming formulaic, as a group of survivors travels for a while, attempts to\u00a0find a place to stay, and is inevitably forced back on the road by zombies or other hostile communities.
