Star Wars alum Oscar Isaac has reportedly been tapped to play Solid Snake in the upcoming Metal Gear Solid film. The long-in-development adaptation of Hideo Kojima\u2019s beloved PlayStation game is currently in\u00a0production at Sony Pictures.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n While nothing is confirmed, <\/span><\/span>Deadline<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>\u00a0reports that, according to its sources, Issac has signed to star in the upcoming film. We do know that Jordan Vogt-Roberts (<\/span><\/span>Kong: Skull Island, The Kings of Summe<\/span><\/span>r) sits in the Director’s chair. Vogt-Roberts is a known <\/span><\/span>Metal Gear fan<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>, and even sat down with the voice of Solid Snake, David Hayter, to celebrate the series <\/span><\/span>31st anniversary<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> in 2018. Derek Connolly (<\/span><\/span>Jurassic World <\/span><\/span>trilogy<\/span><\/span>, Pok\u00e9mon: Detective Pikachu<\/span><\/span>) is penning the script with Marvel Studios founder Avi Arad as well as Peter Kang handling producer duties.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n The film currently has no start date for production, but we already know Isaac is busy filming <\/span><\/span>Dune<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a> and is currently in talks to portray Marc Specter\/Moon Knight in Marvel\u2019s upcoming Disney+ series. The rest of the cast has yet to be announced.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n A Metal Gear Solid movie was first announced way back in <\/span><\/span>2012<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>. If it finally sees the light of day, maybe Vogt-Roberts can move on to that Metroid film <\/span><\/span>he wanted to make<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/a>.
