They were predominantly known for creating graphical adventures, some of which are still considered among the very best in the genre&#8217;s history today.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/great-first-person-shooter-games-nineties\/\">10 Of The Best FPS Games From The 1990s<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>LucasArts also published many great games from other developers in the 90s, like <em>Star Wars: TIE Fighter<\/em> and<em> Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe<\/em>, but this list will only feature games that the company developed themselves.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/star-wars-jedi-knight-dark-forces-II.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II<\/em> is one of the many <em>Star Wars<\/em> video games that LucasArts released. It offered players the chance to live out their fantasy of being a Jedi or Sith, with excellent lightsaber combat and numerous force abilities like Choke for Sith and health restoration for Jedi.<\/p>\n<p>Unsurprisingly,\u00a0<em>Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II<\/em>\u00a0is the only entry on this list that doesn&#8217;t fall under the genre of graphical adventure.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>Loom<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/loom.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Loom\u00a0<\/em>differentiates itself from LucasArts&#8217; other graphical adventures with its intricate and fleshed out plot that is <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps3-games-best-storylines\/\">based more on storytelling<\/a> than witty humor.<\/p>\n<p>The game is also unique for the musical distaff, which can\u00a0create spells with its four-note tunes.<em> Loom<\/em> was released in January 1990 and set a high benchmark for all of LucasArts&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-64-best-games-90s-ranked\/\">subsequent 90s games<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>The Curse of Monkey Island<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/curse-of-monkey-island.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>LucasArts&#8217;<em> Monkey Island<\/em> series is one of the most iconic and well-recognized graphical adventure series in the genre.\u00a0<em>The Curse of Monkey Island\u00a0<\/em>is the third game in the series, and the final one to use point and click mechanics before the series\u00a0returned in 2009.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/video-games-90s-best\/\">The 10 Best &#8217;90s Video Games Of All Time, Ranked<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The point-and-click genre was quickly becoming outdated upon<em> The Curse of Monkey Island<\/em>&#8216;s 1997 release, as 3D games like <em>Super Mario 64<\/em> and <em>Quake<\/em> marked the beginning of the end for the genre&#8217;s AAA status. But <em>The Curse of Monkey Island<\/em> showed that the\u00a0genre wasn&#8217;t going to go out without a fight.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>Full Throttle<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/full-throttle.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>1995s <em>Full Throttle<\/em>\u00a0put players in control of Ben, a biker gang leader who is framed for murder.\u00a0Unconventionally for the time, the game featured high-quality voice actors, such as Mark Hamill.<\/p>\n<p><em>Full Throttle Remastered<\/em> released in 2017, significantly updating the graphics and bringing the game to PlayStation users for the first time.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>Sam &amp; Max Hit The Road<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/sam-and-max-hit-the-road.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Iconic comic book characters Sam and Max were transformed into graphical adventure heroes in 1993. <em>Sam &amp; Max Hit The Road<\/em> took the pair on a trip around the United States as they search for a bigfoot named Bruno, a once frozen carnival attraction.<\/p>\n<p>The game epitomized much of what LucasArts&#8217; games were known for in the 90s, with well-written, genuinely funny dialogue and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/puzzle-games-impossible-complete\/\">unorthodox puzzle solutions<\/a> that rewarded players for thinking outside the box, however ridiculous the solution may have seemed.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Day of the Tentacle<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/day-of-the-tentacle.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Day of the Tentacle<\/em>&#8216;s unique plot took players on a time-traveling adventure as the game&#8217;s three main characters attempt to change the course of history and stop the mutant monster Purple Tentacle from taking over the world. The time-machine malfunctioned though, sending the three protagonists to different points in history. Time-travel is the core component to many of the game&#8217;s puzzles, as the player can switch between the three protagonists and send items to one another.<\/p>\n<p>Double Fine productions remastered the game in 1993, releasing it on PC, PS4, PS Vita, Xbox One, and OS X devices.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>The Secret of Monkey Island<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static1.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/secret-of-monkey-island.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The first game in the <em>Monkey Island<\/em> series, <em>The Secret of Monkey Island\u00a0<\/em>engrossed gamers into its fictional Caribbean setting and introduced the world to the loveable fool Guybrush Threepwood.<\/p>\n<p>In 2009, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.empireonline.com\/movies\/features\/100greatestgames\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Empire listed <em>The Secret of Monkey Island<\/em> as the 47th greatest video game ever made<\/a>.\u00a02009 was the same year that a special edition of the game was released, which greatly improved the visuals and added voice acting.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>Monkey Island 2: LeChuck&#8217;s Revenge<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/11\/monkey-island-2.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>The Secret of Monkey Island<\/em>&#8216;s successor, <em>Monkey Island 2, LeChuck&#8217;s Revenge<\/em>, narrowly edges the first game to a higher spot on this list.
