The game, released in July 2020, has already benefitted from a number of patches, many of which brought quality-of-life improvements and one that dropped an unexpected and free co-op mode for <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghost-tsushima-legends-co-op-expectations\/\">Ghost of Tsushima\u00a0<\/a><\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghost-tsushima-legends-co-op-expectations\/\">called Legends<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ghost of Tsushima\u2019s <\/em>Patch 1.17, released on December 5, features a handful of bug fixes and doesn\u2019t bring any new content to the game. Requiring approximately 900MB of disk space to install, the patch seems to contain primarily small general game fixes and improvements to multiplayer, but it does not address any major game issues. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/sucker-punch-tweets-commemoration-of-tsushima-island-invasion\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Developer Sucker Punch<\/a> has not yet released an official list of patch notes, so it\u2019s not entirely clear what exactly has been tweaked.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghost-tsushima-jin-sakai-figma-action-figure-pre-order\/\">Ghost of Tsushima Jin Sakai Figma Action Figure Up for Pre-Order<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Although originally released as a single-player experience, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ghost-of-tsushima\/\"><em>Ghost of Tsushima\u2019s<\/em><\/a> multiplayer mode Legends has proven to be extremely popular with players, and Patch 1.17 apparently targets stability issues with this aspect of the game. Released in October 2020, Legends allows players to pick one of four available classes: samurai, hunter, ronin, or assassin. Two friends can then team up to take on cooperative story missions, and four players can work their way through wave-based missions and a three-chapter <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghost-of-tsushima-update-1-14-legends-raid\/\">raid in <em>Ghost of Tsushima<\/em><\/a>. All of the new content in Legends can be completed solo as well.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SuckerPunchProd\/status\/1335634018646167552\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The award-winning game, set in 1274 during the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ghost-of-tsushima-builds-to-help-handle-mongol-hordes-defense-samurai-clan-armor-lady-masako\/\">Mongol invasion of Japan<\/a>, follows the trials of Jin Sakai, one of the last remaining samurai on the island of Tsushima. Jin is tasked with liberating the island of the invaders and soon comes to realize that the honorable tactics he learned as a samurai will not necessarily lead to victory. The player must decide if they will keep Jin on an honorable path faithful to his upbringing or if they will have him forge his own way of fighting.<\/p>\n<p><em>Ghost of Tsushima <\/em>has been nominated in multiple categories for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/game-awards-2020-trailer-geoff-keighley\/\">The Game Awards 2020<\/a>, which will be live streamed on December 10. The game is a contender for Game of the Year, Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Audio Design, and Best Performance by Daisuke Tsuji, the actor who voiced the game\u2019s main character Jin Sakai. The Player\u2019s Voice category, in which fans can vote for their favorite game, has entered round three, and <em>Ghost of Tsushima <\/em>is still in the running.
