This would\u00a0provide an excellent gateway into the long-running\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/ace-attorney\/\">Ace Attorney<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>series, bringing three popular visual novels to Game Pass owners.<\/p>\n<p>Although the first three<em>\u00a0Ace Attorney<\/em> games were initially Japan-exclusive, the series became a sleeper hit when localized.\u00a0The series&#8217; unique blend of humor, clever wordplay, and over-the-top detective drama has created many fans over the years. While the series has been adapted into a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-video-game-movies\/\">well-received live-action film in Japan<\/a>\u00a0and a recent anime,\u00a0these adaptations arguably differ from the games in pacing and tone. In order to make sure newcomers could see the games for themselves, Capcom released\u00a0a collection known as\u00a0<em>Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy<\/em>\u00a0for modern consoles.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-video-game-anime-franchises-ranked-myanimelist\/\">The 10 Best Anime Based On Video Game Franchises (According To MyAnimeList)<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Speculation began after an exchange between the <em>Ace Attorney<\/em> and <em>Dragon Quest<\/em> Twitter accounts. The <em>Dragon Quest<\/em> account posted a tweet encouraging Xbox owners to play <em>Dragon Quest XI<\/em> on Game Pass. The <em>Ace Attorney<\/em> account responded with a thinking emoji. This could simply be surprise that characters like\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/dragon-quest-11-veronica-things-need-know\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Dragon Quest XI<\/em>&#8216;s\u00a0strong-willed Veronica<\/a> were doing a Phoenix Wright-styled point, or indicate that\u00a0<em>Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney Trilogy<\/em>\u00a0may soon be coming to Game Pass.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/aceattorneygame\/status\/1334996348228100097\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Speculation deepened when the Game Pass Twitter account responded, asking &#8220;what&#8217;s happening&#8221; in response to the exchange of pointed fingers.\u00a0In terms of Capcom releasing the\u00a0<em>Ace Attorney\u00a0<\/em>trilogy for Game Pass, the franchise is quite active, with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/capcom-leak-2020-games-ace-attorney-resident-evil-monster-hunter\/\"><em>Ace Attorney 7<\/em> rumored to be in development<\/a>. It would only make sense for as big an audience\u00a0to play earlier games in the franchise so newer titles would have more appeal. Plus, the\u00a0trilogy has already been out for well over a year on Xbox consoles. If Xbox owners were willing to pay for the\u00a0trilogy, they likely would have done so by now.<\/p>\n<p>One challenge\u00a0<em>Ace Attorney<\/em> may face on Xbox Game Pass is that the compilation only offers the first three games in\u00a0a longer series. This might leave players wondering whether the first three games would be enough, or if it would be better to wait until all games were playable. For whatever it&#8217;s worth, the first three games tell a complete story with a definitive conclusion. In fact, the director of the first three games <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/phoenix-wright-creator-series-end\/\">wanted <em>Ace Attorney<\/em> to end completely<\/a>\u00a0after the third game, although this didn&#8217;t end up being the case.<\/p>\n<p>If a potential Game Pass release broadens\u00a0the audience for the\u00a0<em>Ace Attorney<\/em> series, this would be a win not only for Capcom, but for the\u00a0<em>Ace Attorney<\/em> fanbase. Fans have created <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-ace-attorney-mash-up-crossover\/\">impressive mashups between <em>Ace Attorney<\/em> and <em>Among Us<\/em><\/a>, for example, and more fans would mean a bigger audience for fan works.
