Game studios take years to produce a game so it’s hard to estimate when they might finally hit store shelves.\u00a0Still, in a year like 2020, it’s hard to not wonder if the\u00a0cosmic deity of gaming has chosen to bless the year with how fantastic releases took place.<\/p>\n

It can be difficult for gamers to get their hands on the Xbox Series X<\/a> or\u00a0the Playstation 5 with such high demand<\/a>, many are simply playing games on their PCs. Thankfully they have marvelous titles to choose from.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Observer: System Redux<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Bloober Team<\/a> released one of the best psychological horror games of the decade. It was nominated for several awards and won some as well! There were even rumors it might be made into a movie<\/a>. So when a remake was announced for the PC to be released in 2020 fans were\u00a0hoping it would be of the same quality.<\/p>\n

They weren’t disappointed<\/a>. The game takes on the cyberpunk genre<\/a> masterfully and is one of the best examples of horror that can be found on the PC to play in 2020.<\/p>\n

Imagine being able to buy six of the most iconic first-person shooter games of all time with graphical enhancements to play on the PC. The first Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater game was released all the way back in August 1999 and its sequel in September 2000 so seeing the games in remastered glory over twenty years later is quite a sight. The game offers a chance to once again play some of the best levels<\/a> the series has to offer alongside unlocking wacky characters<\/a> the series is known for. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1+ 2<\/em> is perfect for nostalgic fans or players looking to try a skateboarding game for the first time<\/p>\n

One of the greatest games of 2020 had a failed Kickstarter campaign<\/a>? Yes, it’s true! Puzzle game fans met their hilarious match when There Is No Game: Wrong Dimension<\/a> was released\u00a0in August 2020. Based on ideas from a game jam game called There Is No Game, this game breaks into the meta-humor of games itself while still providing a challenging experience. Fans have waited eight years since the release of Crusader Kings II<\/a> and can finally play a well-built sequel! The game can be intimidating to get into at first<\/a>, but Crusader Kings III didn’t sell over a million copies in the first month by not being fun to play.<\/p>\n

It offers the safest way to “travel” in 2020 and has been deemed a Must Play Game<\/a> by Metacritic.<\/p>\n

Supergiant Games<\/a> released Hades<\/a> on PC on September 17, 2020 and the internet has been buzzing about the game<\/a> ever since. This\u00a0roguelike game bends the traditional mythos of the Greek pantheon and offers challenging yet rewarding gameplay on a level most other games can only dream of. Time Magazine listed Hades<\/em> in its Top 10 Games of 2020 and it’s also up for Game of the Year<\/a>. The only question PC players should be asking about Hades<\/em> is why it isn’t already in their game library.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Half-Lyfe: Alyx<\/h2>\n

“It’s been 84 years…”<\/em> Okay, maybe we didn’t ride the Titanic<\/a> and it’s only been sixteen years, but a third Half-Life game has been a meme<\/a> as fans dreamed of it existing for all that time. Then, on March 23, 2020, Half-Life: Alyx<\/a> was released. The game was thankfully worth the long wait and had 43,000 concurrent players upon release with Twitch hitting over 300,000 people watching streams for the game at its highest point.<\/p>\n

The game also has one of the best VR adaptations<\/a> of all time and has already won the Game of The Year award from the VR Awards. With four separate nominations for the Game Awards<\/a> this year it’s no wonder that the game is considered one of the best available in 2020.<\/p>\n
