For professional <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-mobile\/\"><em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em><\/a> players competing in the game\u2019s World Championship, the disappointing news that the Finals have been canceled surely came as a shock.<\/p>\n<p>Fans of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-mobile-50-million-china\/\">incredibly successful <em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em><\/a> had been watching the tournament for several weeks, with lengthy preliminary bouts knocking out teams in the lead-up to Stage 5. While everything seemed to have been going well, a post was made on the <em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em> Twitter account that shared the cancellation news with the public. With Activision seeing \u201cthe well-being of our players, fans, and communities\u201d as a priority, the tough decision to cancel was made.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-mobile-diamond-skin-december-2020\/\">Call of Duty Mobile Reveals Diamond Weapon Skin Launch Date<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The Call of Duty Mobile World Championship Finals is hardly the only live event to have been canceled due to the coronavirus. Back in March, the Call of Duty League canceled its Home Series events. Around that same time, the Overwatch League saw its matches delayed for several months, with E3 2020 also being canceled due to complications with COVID-19. Most recently, Valve seems to have <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/valve-cs-go-major-2021-cancel\/\">canceled <em>CS: GO<\/em>\u2019s Spring Major Championship<\/a> as well, giving players of the Call of Duty Mobile World Championship some sense of solidarity.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PlayCODMobile\/status\/1336084322072354823?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Considering <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/call-of-duty-300-million-downloads\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em>&#8216;s\u00a0massive player base<\/a>,\u00a0there surely would have been plenty of eyes on the finale had it happened. While nobody had planned for the heavily hyped tournament to end in such a way, it is undeniable that people from around the world \u201ctraveling to a hosted, live event\u201d would have presented some unnecessary health risks. Though it is a shame that a proper World Champion will not be decided, at least the prize money is still being handed out to the runner-ups.<\/p>\n<p>As mentioned in the post, \u201cthe remaining prize money will be distributed evenly across the Stage 4: Regional Playoffs Champions.\u201d With $750,000 originally up for grabs, each of the remaining teams will be getting $94,000 for their efforts in the tournament. This is a respectable move on the part of the <em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em> team, and one that should be responded to positively by even the most annoyed of fans. The post concluded with a line that mentioned more plans for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-mobile-na-45-sniper-rifle-ban-october-2020\/\"><em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em>\u2019s competitive play<\/a>, ensuring that this cancelled event will not be the last competition ever held for the game.<\/p>\n<p>In more positive <em>Call of Duty Mobile<\/em> news, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-mobile-black-ops-4-nuketown-season-13\/\">Season 13 is on the way<\/a>, bringing new maps and weapons to the popular mobile game.
