Genshin Impact\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is nearly a month into its first significant update, Version 1.1,\u00a0and players expect the next major addition to be showing up soon. Though a date has yet to be officially confirmed, leaks indicate that December 23 is\u00a0the likely launch date for Version 1.2, which is set to introduce a new region among other things.<\/p>\n

Travelers are most looking forward to Version 1.2 of\u00a0Genshin Impact<\/em><\/a> because leaks, rumors, and small hints from miHoYo seem to indicate the developer will introduce the icy mountainous region known as Dragonspine. The region is currently visible and approachable on the game’s map, but once a player attempts to\u00a0cross\u00a0its boundaries, they are\u00a0forced back in the opposite direction.<\/p>\n

Aside from presenting players with an entirely new terrain to explore, players expect the Dragonspine update to introduce several new playable characters, alongside\u00a0weapons and enemies. Now,\u00a0leaker NEP NEP’s latest tweets<\/a> seem to indicate the upcoming\u00a0snowy\u00a0mountain ranges may actually challenge players with several completely new Elite Boss and Unique Enemy encounters.<\/p>\n

Namely, the leaked map image depicts three icons associated with powerful Genshin Impact<\/em>\u00a0enemy encounters<\/a>, one of which is shown off in a series of follow-up images by NEP NEP.\u00a0The leftmost pin on the leaked map marks the location of the monster revealed by the leak: something that resembles an evolved Cryo Regisvine. To its right is a pin marking the location of what fans\u00a0are referring to as a “Pyro Oceanid.”\u00a0Above the Pyro Oceanid is some sort of cross or statue figure.\u00a0Players speculate this may be tied to an upcoming leaked event concerning an odd substance called Glimmering Tincture.<\/p>\n
