Bungie has released a new update blog concerning Destiny 2<\/em><\/strong> and its future. In it, Destiny 2<\/em>‘s Assistant Game Director Joe Blackburn discusses several things that players can look forward to in the title’s upcoming seasons, such as the Transmog feature arriving in Destiny 2<\/em>‘s Season 14<\/a>. Overall, the discussion mainly touches upon the improvements Bungie plans to make in Destiny 2<\/em><\/a>‘s reward system, which includes providing new additions to activities like Nightfall Strikes.<\/p>\n

According to Blackburn, once Destiny 2<\/em>‘s Season of the Hunt ends and Season 13 begins, players can expect Nightfalls and other Destiny 2<\/em> activities<\/a> to dish out new weapon rewards. However, Bungie doesn’t want to spoil everything that’s coming, so Blackburn doesn’t reveal the full extent of the new additions. With that in mind, more items are arriving with the upcoming season than what’s revealed below. How many items remain a mystery, though.<\/p>\n

As for the specific items: ritual activities will get six new Legendary weapons added to the pool, with Strikes, Gambit, and Crucible all receiving two weapons each. Along with that, Nightfalls will see three popular Destiny 1 weapons added<\/a> to the pool, these being The Palindrome (a hand cannon), The Swarm (a machine gun), and the Shadow Price (an auto rifle). Grandmaster Nightfalls will have these weapons as well, but to compensate for the increased difficulty, it’ll drop Adept versions of them.<\/p>\n

Hopefully, the pool of rewards introduced next season will be much bigger than what Blackburn teased in today’s Bungie rewards blog post<\/a>. He, of course, only mentioned weapons that Destiny players have already used and experienced to avoid spoilers. Because of this, fans can still look forward to what new items they’ll be able to grind for when the content comes around. With luck, there will be enough additions included to at least holdover players until Season 14, and then 15, and so on.<\/p>\n

In the blog, Bungie notes that many of the changes and improvements that it plans to bring to Destiny 2<\/em> come from the criticisms leveled at the Beyond Light<\/em> expansion. A lot of this criticism focused on how Bungie handled sunsetting<\/a> \u2014 or removing \u2014 content from the game to make way for new additions. In response to this, Blackburn states that Bungie promises the vast majority of weapons capable of reaching Power Cap will always be available for players to earn. Conceivably this means players won’t have to worry about the weapons they worked for in the coming seasons becoming suddenly useless.<\/p>\n
