Remedy Entertainment<\/strong> is one of the most beloved developers in modern gaming, however, the studio has never been shy when it comes to voicing its rocky history with publishers. Known for its weird, Lynchian style of storytelling, Remedy<\/a>‘s games are distinct among modern AAA games for their fascinating,\u00a0surreal worlds and strange characters. As a result, the studio has struggled in the past to work with publishers wishing to make its games marketable to a wider audience. This makes the upcoming\u00a0game the studio is working on with Epic Games even more exciting, as new details have emerged regarding the project.<\/p>\n

Earlier this year, Epic Games announced that it would be entering multiplatform publishing agreements with Remedy Entertainment<\/a> (Control<\/em>, Alan Wake<\/em>) gen DESIGN (The Last Guardian<\/em>,) and PlayDead (Limbo<\/em>, Inside<\/em>)\u00a0claiming that Epic, as a publisher, would strive to have the most developer-friendly terms in the games industry. These include allowing the studios to retain 100% of the project’s intellectual property rights, as well as full creative control over their work. Epic will also cover up to 100% of the project’s funding, as well as share 50% of the game’s profits with the developer after the project’s costs have been recouped.<\/p>\n

Now, Remedy has provided slightly more insight into the project following this initial announcement in March. During its first ever Capital Markets Day presentation for investors and analysts, Remedy Entertainment CEO Sam Lake revealed that the studio’s upcoming project with Epic Games is in development for both consoles and PC. He also revealed that the game will take place in the Remedy Connected Universe, in which Control<\/em> and Alan Wake<\/em><\/a> (and possibly Quantum Break<\/em>) take place. Lake also revealed that Epic is providing “significant market investment” into the project. He also reiterated that the project is fully owned by Remedy Entertainment, with full funding from Epic Games.<\/p>\n
