The past few days have seen several celebrity presenters announced for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/the-game-awards\/\">The Game Awards<\/a>, the latest being none other than the internet&#8217;s favorite celebrity, Keanu Reeves.<\/p>\n<p>Beginning\u00a0in 2014, The Game Awards\u00a0is the\u00a0creation\u00a0of media entrepreneur Geoff Keighley. The awards show has seen its prominence rise each passing year, garnering over 49 million viewers in 2019. However, like all things during the COVID-19 pandemic, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-game-awards-2020-digital-geoff-keighley\/\">The Game Awards will look different this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/game-awards-2020-geoff-keighley-12-15-unannounced-games\/\">The Game Awards Will Feature 12-15 Unannounced Games<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A post from The Game Awards official Twitter account confirms Keanu Reeves as one of the presenters. He joins a list of other well-known celebrities, including film director Christopher Nolan and <em>Captain Marvel<\/em> actress\u00a0Brie Larson.\u00a0Presenting at gaming events is nothing new for Reeves, who\u00a0hosted the full <em>Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> reveal\u00a0at last year&#8217;s E3. It&#8217;s currently unclear exactly what the\u00a0actor will be presenting.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/thegameawards\/status\/1336698585312706561\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The delay actually pushes\u00a0<em>Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> out of\u00a0consideration for this year&#8217;s awards, missing the release date cutoff point of November 20. However, its expected to earn quite a few nominations for next year, already getting largely positive reviews. This includes Johnny Silverhand himself, Keanu Reeves, who has\u00a0not only played\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/keanu-reeves-cyberpunk-2077-loves-it\/\"><em>Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>, but apparently &#8220;loves it.&#8221;<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The awards show will also see several musical performances in addition to the recognizable presenters.\u00a0Pearl Jam guitarist Eddie Vedder will be playing, as well as a performance of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/the-game-awards-persona-5-music-performance-live\/\"><em>Persona 5<\/em> music from Lyn Inaizumi<\/a>. For those who don&#8217;t know, Lyn provides the vocals on both the\u00a0<em>Persona 5\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Persona 5 Royal<\/em> soundtracks, which has many fans of the series excited. While many things are officially announced for The Game Awards 2020, there are perhaps even more surprises or reveals teased. Plenty of\u00a0titles plan to\u00a0premiere new gameplay trailers during the livestream, including\u00a0<em>Dragon Age 4, Fortnite, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> and more. Plus, as notorious as gaming events are for dropping plenty of unannounced content, there&#8217;s likely to be even more for gamers to watch out for.<\/p>\n<p>However, some gaming industry higher-ups want fans to temper their expectations. Head of Xbox Marketing Aaron Greenberg is warning people <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/xbox-marketing-boss-temper-excitement-tga-2020\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">not to get too excited about The Game Awards<\/a>.
