Last year, Remedy Entertainment released Control<\/strong><\/em>, which is an action-adventure game revolving around\u00a0the mysterious organization known as the Federal Bureau of Control. Although\u00a0the game’s commercial performance had a slow start, Control<\/em> received mostly positive reviews from game critics<\/a>. Now, Remedy Entertainment announced that Control<\/em> had passed a new sales milestone, with the game selling over 2 million copies.<\/p>\n

According to the company’s figure during its first-ever Capital Markets Day presentation, Control<\/em> is now the fastest-growing IP for the studio since Max Payne<\/em>. The key factor contributing to\u00a0the game’s eventual commercial success is Control<\/em> being\u00a0Remedy’s first “truly multi-platform” title in years. The\u00a0game\u00a0is\u00a0currently available on the PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One. It is worth noting that previous Remedy games such as Alan Wake<\/em><\/a> and Quantum Break<\/em> were exclusively released for the Xbox and PC.<\/p>\n

Additionally, Remedy Entertainment revealed that Control<\/em> continues to perform well on the market, with November 2020 serving as a record month for the game. Remedy also revealed that Control’s<\/em> sales shifted to digital in 2020, with the game seeing digital sales of around 90%, which is vastly different from 2019’s figure of 60%. Apart from revealing the sales performance of Control<\/em><\/a>, Remedy also talked about a new project that will be a live-service multiplayer game. While details about this new venture are still being kept under wraps, Remedy teased that it will feature “selected Remedy world-building and narrative strengths.”<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, Remedy Entertainment released Control: Ultimate Edition<\/em> to the PC and current-gen consoles earlier this year. This version of the game bundles all of the content that the studio has released for Control<\/em><\/a> so far, such as The Foundation<\/em> and AWE<\/em> expansions. Although Control: Ultimate Edition<\/em> is slated to release on next-generation consoles, Remedy confirmed last month that the PS5 and Xbox Series X versions of the bundle would be delayed to 2021. In a tweet, the developer explained that the delay is to ensure that the final quality of the game would be top-notch.<\/p>\n

Despite the setback,\u00a0Xbox players would be happy to know that Control<\/em> has been included in the roster of games<\/a> that players can access\u00a0via\u00a0the Xbox Game Pass service. The inclusion of Control<\/em> last December 3 is part of the first wave of games to be added to Xbox’s subscription service,\u00a0with other titles releasing on a later date that includes GreedFall, Doom Eternal, Haven, Starbound<\/em>, and many more.<\/p>\n

Control<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0is available now on PC, PS4, Switch, and Xbox One, with the PS5 and Xbox Series X|S versions currently in development.<\/p>\n
