The Game Awards is now the video game industry’s big annual award show, and\u00a0the December event always has plenty of announcements\u00a0and surprises to make any fan happy.\u00a0Tonight’s event was hosted again by Geoff Keighley to hand out numerous accolades to studios and creators in the industry.<\/p>\n

While this year’s awards show couldn’t have a live audience, the producers still made sure to create an engaging experience through interactive programming, airing on multiple platforms, and promoting co-streams of the event. The Game Awards also featured presenters such as Gal Gadot<\/a>, Keanu Reeves, Reggie Fils-Aim\u00e9, and other entertainment industry professionals to give fans a memorable show.<\/p>\n

Arguably, the most anticipated award of the night is that of Game of the Year.\u00a0Quite a variety of genres were up for the award this year, and if any of the games had won, they would have been in good company with winners such as last year’s\u00a0Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice<\/em>.\u00a0Going into the night,\u00a0The <\/em>Last of Us Part II<\/em> led the\u00a0pack with nine nominations<\/a>, including Game of the Year. Other games such as\u00a0Hades<\/em>,\u00a0Ghost of Tsushima<\/em>,\u00a0and\u00a0Final Fantasy VII Remake<\/em>\u00a0also received multiple nominations.<\/p>\n

For fans who didn’t have a chance to watch the awards show live,\u00a0here are all the Game Awards nominees<\/a> and winners for the 30 categories\u00a0celebrated this year.<\/p>\n

And there are the winners for The Game Awards 2020 in all\u00a030 categories. Hopefully gaming fans were happy with some, if not all, of the winners throughout the night. While\u00a0The Last of Us Part II<\/em>\u00a0was initially controversial<\/a>\u00a0with some fans, the Naughty Dog team did end up winning seven out of the nine nominations they went into the night with.<\/p>\n

Fans were treated to multiple new game announces, new gameplay trailers, content updates for existing games, and musical performances. The\u00a0Game Awards also announced their inaugural Future Class<\/a>, a group being honored for promoting a bright and inclusive future in gaming. Everything together made this a massive night for the video game industry, and congratulations are in order for all the winners. Whatever happens next year, it looks like The Game Awards will continue to be a staple in the industry for a long time.<\/p>\n
