While there are a ton of video games already that tackle or use mythology as an inspiration<\/a>, Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em> is\u00a0its own unique game and will surely be one of the best games players will have the pleasure of playing.<\/p>\n

Similar to many massive open-world games<\/a>, there are a ton of hidden details in Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em> many people won’t be able to find if they don’t scour around the game’s world. Some details are also present during the main campaign but only frequent gamers and fans of other franchises will be able to pick up on them.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>God of War Reference<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

God of War<\/a><\/em> is one of the most popular video game series<\/a> of all time. It also makes sense that Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em> would reference God of War<\/em> considering both of them share the same thematic with Greek mythology.<\/p>\n

In the game, players will encounter Ares, the god of war himself, albeit in a much less threatening form. In a game with one of his companions, Ares will say the line, “Do not be sorry, be better” to the character he’s playing against, which is a direct reference to one of God of War<\/em>‘s most memorable moments.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>From Helpless Stranger To Strange Thief<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

During the earliest stages of the game, the players will encounter someone who seems very helpless and is constantly attacked by various monsters. Ever the decent person, the protagonist of the game will go to lengths to save the “Helpless Stranger” as he is dubbed in the game.<\/p>\n

Later on, however, the Helpless Stranger will steal something from you from out of nowhere. Until his real identity is revealed, the Helpless Stranger’s given name in the subtitles will change to “Strange Thief.”<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Being An Assassin<\/h2>\n

Both Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em> and the Assassin’s Creed<\/em> franchise are brought to the players by Ubisoft. The development of this game even ran concurrently with other Assassin’s Creed<\/em> titles.<\/p>\n

Players will earn an achievement called “Join The Creed” once they perform enough assassinations, and they’ll also have access to an armor set that’s taken right out of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Hermes’ Secret Hideaway<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Hermes, the messenger of the gods and the god of thieves, is the first god players will actually encounter face-to-face in the game. He will act as a liaison to ensure the protagonist will do what needs to be done in order to rescue the other gods and restore the land to its former glory.<\/p>\n

Hermes also has a very secret hideaway that’s inaccessible to most players. In fact, it’s a place that can’t be found on the map. The only chance of getting to Hermes’ secret hideaway is by chance and luck. The players will randomly get transported to Hermes’ secret hideaway when the fast travel to the Hall of the Gods.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Petting Phosphor<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Phosphor is Fenyx’s trusty little bird companion. Players will get the chance to have Phosphor as a companion by completing a series of side quests that begin with Bolt from the Blue.<\/p>\n

Having a bird companion is a familiar mechanic to those who’ve played Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed<\/em> games. However, this bird companion won’t be able to help players scout the areas from the skies, but rather actually assist them in combat. If the players put down their controllers for a while and just leave their characters idle, it’ll eventually trigger a bunch of animations including the main character interacting with Phosphor like petting it.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Happy Little Trees<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The late Bob Ross is an American painter and the creator and host of a show called The Joy of Painting. He was a very beloved personality due to his optimistic and calm demeanor and his artistic talents. While his show ended in 1994, his fame and legacy continue to be felt on the internet to this day.<\/p>\n

Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em> references Bob Ross via Hephaestus, who in essence shares a very similar charisma with the late painter. Hephaestus will say the line “I could sculpt a tree with happy little tree friends,” which is one of Bob Ross’ famous lines.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>The Regions Of The Gods<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Immortals Fenyx Rising<\/em> is set in a place called the Golden Isles. The Golden Isles is split into six different sections overall. Discounting the first area, which is essentially just the tutorial level, every single section on the map is very representative of the god they’re affiliated with.<\/p>\n

For example, Hephaistos’ region, the Forgelands, looks like a forge in of itself, which ties in with the aforementioned god’s link to smithing. Ares’ area is War’s Den, which looks like a massive battleground. Athena’s region is filled with libraries and temples, and Aphrodite’s is lively, full of wildlife, colorful, and beautiful.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Knights Of The Zodiac Easter Egg<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The Knights of the Zodiac is an animated web series based on a Japanese manga called Saint Senya. The series tells the story of the Bronze Knights, a group of warriors whose quest is to become loyal fighters for the goddess Athena.<\/p>\n

There’s a golden box in this game located in a cave just below where players first encounter Phosphor. This golden box looks very similar to a backpack that’s constantly featured in the referenced web series. If the players use photo mode to take a look at the side of the box hidden from plain view, they’ll see two straps attached to the box, making it look like a backpack, similar to the one in the web series.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Secret Quests<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

True to its open-world mechanic<\/a>, there are a whole lot of quests players can do in the game outside of the main campaign. Amazingly, many of these quests won’t even appear on the map.<\/p>\n

These hidden quests will only become accessible to the players when approached or when a certain location is discovered. For example, one such hidden quest requires the player to find a waterfall. Another located in Aphrodite’s Palace will only trigger when the player approaches a certain statue.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Fenyx’s Family<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Fenyx is the game’s main protagonist. As the players will later discover at the end of the game, Fenyx is actually not just a mere mortal, but a half-god. Zeus’ son, in fact. Given how Fenyx fights, how strong he is, how immune he seems with instruments that would apparently obliterate mere mortals, and how “busy” Zeus’s life is, Fenyx’s lineage isn’t actually very surprising.<\/p>\n

It is also later revealed that Fenyx’s mother is named Thetis. Thetis, in Greek mythology, is a sea nymph. She is also the mother of Achilles, the hero of the Trojan War. Incidentally, Fenyx’s brother’s name is Ligyron, which is thought to be Achilles’ original name.<\/p>\n
