While many believe that Kombat Pack 2 will prove to be the last, there are some hints buried amongst the game’s files that could suggest otherwise. Regardless, for now at least, the addition of Mileena, Rain, and Rambo brings the total number of DLC fighters in the game up to a very respectable 12.

RELATED: 10 PS5 & Xbox Series X Games You Didn’t Realize Had A Next-Gen Patch

When combined with the nine DLC fighters found in Mortal Kombat X, this makes for a total of 21, with nine of them being guest characters. While each one offers something a little different, there’s a huge disparity when it comes to the quality of these new combatants. A few of them are top tier, but some of the others really aren’t worth the price of admission.

10 BEST: Fujin (Mortal Kombat 11)

Fujin gets a few bonus points for literally being a God, but, even without his celestial status, he’s still a fantastic fighter. He joined the roster as part of the Aftermath expansion and while it was Robocop who attracted a lot of the early attention, over time, Fujin has proven himself to be the expansion’s standout fighter.

He’s incredibly well designed, both in terms of his appearance and his move set, but the reason he’s so popular with players is that he’s incredibly fun to control. His combos feel fluid and the huge variation in his move set accommodates a variety of different playstyles. This can make him a little annoying to play against though, especially if the other player overuses his Tornado move.

9 WORST: Tanya (Mortal Kombat X)

While Tanya’s design isn’t too bad, she is one of the most boring fighters in the game. The issue isn’t that she has a weak move set, but instead that one of her combos is ridiculously overpowered. As a result, it’s not uncommon to see players repeatedly spamming it with very little consequence due to how difficult it is to counter.

Most series fans hate it whenever a player picks her in tournaments or online play as it inevitably leads to either an incredibly tedious fight or a ridiculously frustrating one. Sometimes, it can be both. Better players may have the tools needed to counter, but, for casuals at least, she’s an incredibly irritating opponent when in the wrong hands.

8 BEST: Joker (Mortal Kombat 11)

His design is a little divisive amongst the game’s fanbase, but one thing that most can agree on is that he is an excellent addition to the Mortal Kombat universe. He fits in much better than some of the other guest characters and is a great fighter to boot. There are certainly stronger alternatives, but he’s easily in the top ten.

RELATED: 10 Best Fighting Games Of The Decade, Ranked (According To Metacritic)

His Kapow combo is incredibly satisfying to pull off and can deal some decent damage too. All in all, he has a well-balanced move set with very few weaknesses. Unfortunately though, a lot of his better combos start high meaning that skilled players will be able to punish and counter if they’re paying enough attention.

7 WORST: Terminator (Mortal Kombat 11)

Not only does the Terminator not fit in well with the Mortal Kombat universe, but he’s also an incredibly difficult fighter to effectively utilize. This isn’t one of those cases where he’s difficult to master but excellent in the right hands, either. Even with a skilled player at the helm, he’s a mediocre combatant at best.

He’s unbearably slow and while he does have some decent combos, when up against a fighter who can out-zone him, his move set doesn’t provide many viable options. Certain variations are better than others in this regard, but, ultimately, none of them bring him anywhere near the game’s top fighters.

6 BEST: Shang Tsung (Mortal Kombat 11)

The first Kombat Pack really was a mixed bag, but the highlight was undoubtedly Shang Tsung. It had been quite a while since the soul-stealing sorcerer had been playable in a Mortal Kombat game and he marked his return in style. He’s superior to most of the characters in the base version of the game, although is not quite on the same level as Erron or Liu Kang.

RELATED: Mortal Kombat 11: 5 Totally Weird Facts About Shang Tsung

His move set is incredible and makes him one of the game’s most overpowered fighters. Most players will have trouble blocking his ground fireballs and his corpse drop move can be super effective in the right hands. He’s not unstoppable, but learning how to counter him effectively can take quite a bit of time and practice.

5 WORST: Bo’ Rai Cho (Mortal Kombat X)

When it comes to classic Mortal Kombat characters who deserved a spot in the Mortal Kombat X roster, few people were expecting Bo’ Rai Cho. It’s not that he’s an obscure character or anything like that, but instead that he has typically been a fairly average fighter in each of his previous appearances. Unfortunately, that is once again the case here.

His move set is incredibly limited when compared to some of the other fighters in the game and this makes him a bit of a liability when up against skilled players. Some of his better combos also require unnecessarily complicated inputs which can make pulling them off in a pinch a little tricky. His Drunken Master variation is the best of a bad bunch, but it’s still not nearly enough to make him a viable option.

4 BEST: Alien (Mortal Kombat X)

The Acidic variation of Alien is quite possibly the best of all of the DLC fighters across both Mortal Kombat X and Mortal Kombat 11. Sadly, the other two variations are a little underwhelming which makes them fairly useless in online or competitive play. That said, Acidic Alien really is a top tier fighter.

Her move set contains some fantastic mix-ups and her 50/50 game is on point as well. The only thing that lets her down is her recoveries, although she’s great at punishing knockdowns when the shoe is on the other foot. She’s incredibly well balanced when compared to some of the other DLC fighters and really does feel unique.

3 WORST: Spawn (Mortal Kombat 11)

Spawn was a nice addition to the Mortal Kombat 11 roster and looks absolutely fantastic. What’s more, he feels like he belongs in the Mortal Kombat universe, which is a lot more than can be said for some of the other guest fighters. Unfortunately, however, he’s really not that great a combatant.

He has plenty of power, but, unlike some of the other beefy fighters in the series, this additional power doesn’t really justify the huge reduction in his movement speed. In the right hands he can be deadly, but, in those of an average player, he’ll likely end up taking a lot of punishment.

2 BEST: Triborg (Mortal Kombat X)

Triborg is one of the coolest looking fighters in Mortal Kombat X, but, if we’re honest with ourselves, his inclusion was purely fan service. He’s the amalgamation of four of the series’ cyborg characters and has a fantastic back story. The only disappointing thing about him is that he didn’t make the cut when Mortal Kombat 11 rolled around.

His variations being based on the cyborgs whose consciousnesses he possesses is a really cool idea and the team at NetherRealm got the execution spot on. Smoke is undoubtedly the best of the four, but, unlike Alien, he’s not overly reliant on it. Cyber Sub-Zero aside, the other variations are all solid and help to keep the experience feeling fresh.

1 WORST: Leatherface (Mortal Kombat X)

Considering the excellent job that the team at NetherRealm did with Freddie and Jason, Leatherface is a huge disappointment. He certainly looks and sounds the part and his iconic chainsaw helps to make him one of the franchise’s most gruesome fighters. Unfortunately though, that’s not enough to make up for his deficiencies in combat.

The biggest problem with Leatherface is his combos. They all feel incredibly similar and some of them can be incredibly difficult to pull off. Not only does this make him difficult to play with, but also incredibly annoying to play against. Due to the complexity, many players tend to repeatedly spam his easier combos and this can get old very quickly.

NEXT: Mortal Kombat 11: 10 References That Only Make Sense If You Played The Original Games

立刻註冊及報名電腦補習課程吧!

Find A Teacher Form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1vREBnX5n262umf4wU5U2pyTwvk9O-JrAgblA-wH9GFQ/viewform?edit_requested=true#responses

Email:

public1989two@gmail.com

www.itsec.hk
www.itsec.vip
www.itseceu.uk

Mortal Kombat’s roster of DLC characters features returning franchise favorites and guests galore — today we’re detailing the best and worst ones.

Mortal Kombat: The 5 Best DLC Characters In The Series (& 5 That Fell Flat) - ITTeacherITFreelance.hk
Mortal Kombat's roster of DLC characters features returning franchise favorites and guests galore — today we're detailing the best and worst ones.

607
