Cyberpunk 2077<\/span><\/strong> has finally been released after suffering from multiple delays,\u00a0but some players\u00a0are not happy with the game’s current state. Currently, players on current-gen consoles have reported\u00a0several bugs and glitches<\/a>, with resulting in major game crashes. Developer CD Projekt Red\u00a0acknowledged\u00a0the buggy state of Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>, apologizing to players for all the performance issue that lingers in the game.<\/p>\n

Now, in a recent conference call after Cyberpunk 2077’s<\/em><\/a> launch, CD Projekt Red shared some interesting insights as to the state of the game on current-gen consoles. According to the studio, it had “underestimated the scale and complexity of the issues” the game continues to have on the PS4 and Xbox One. Additionally, the company admitted that it “ignored the signals about the need for additional time to refine the game on the base last-gen consoles.”<\/p>\n

When asked whether the studio rushed the current-gen versions of Cyberpunk 2077<\/em> to meet its release date, CD Projekt Red revealed that\u00a0this was not the case, and according to\u00a0Michal Nowakowski, the studio did not feel any pressure that is beyond the normal range for a launch of a major title. Instead, Nowakowski admitted that CD Projekt Red spent most of its time “looking at the PC and next-gen performance rather than current-gen.” In the end, Nowakowski shared during the conference call that CD Projekt Red is taking responsibility<\/a> for the troubled state of the game on the PS4 and Xbox One.<\/p>\n

As previously mentioned, CD Projekt Red has since released an apology to PS4 and Xbox One fans. The studio recently revealed that it is offering refunds to players on next-gen consoles<\/a>, especially those who were disappointed with all the bugs and glitches present in Cyberpunk 2077<\/em>. To secure a digital refund, players must use the refund system on the PS4 and Xbox One, and those who purchased boxed copies will need to head to a separate website if the retailer they bought the game from does not allow returns of used games.<\/p>\n

Unsurprisingly, some fans on the PS4 are finding it difficult to refund their digital copy of the game. According to reports from players, Sony refuses to issue a refund on the grounds of restrictions outlined in the PlayStation Store Cancellation Policy<\/a>. In a photo posted online by a PS4 player, a customer support representative revealed that their copy of the game is ineligible for a refund given that it has already been downloaded\/streamed. At the moment, neither Sony nor CD Projekt Red has commented on these reports.<\/p>\n

Cyberpunk 2077<\/strong><\/em> is available now on PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X\/S versions coming in 2021.<\/p>\n
