The online multiplayer social deduction game became so widely popular this year that it even took the top spot for the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/google-most-searched-game-2020-among-us\/\">most searched game on Google in 2020<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Initially releasing on Android and iOS platforms in June of 2018 and then on PC a few months later,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/among-us\/\"><em>Among Us<\/em><\/a> originally\u00a0never caught the eyes of many gamers. However, with a sudden influx of content creators on Twitch and YouTube beginning to play the game this summer, many have become attached to the game&#8217;s addictive and thoughtful gameplay. As a result, it seems that indie developer InnerSloth is intent on making the popular game as accessible as possible.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-graphing-calculator\/\">Among Us Fan Recreates Game on Graphing Calculator<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>During Nintendo&#8217;s latest Indie World livestream presentation earlier today,\u00a0<em>Among Us<\/em> made a surprise appearance at the very end of the show. The hit <em>Mafia<\/em>-style game was announced to release on Nintendo Switch later today and is available now.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/NintendoAmerica\/status\/1338896136669700096\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While it was not officially announced when <em>Among Us\u00a0<\/em>would be available on the Nintendo eShop, the game is available for download now. The Nintendo Switch version of game has been confirmed\u00a0to support cross-play with the PC and mobile versions, allowing for access to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thegamer.com\/among-us-how-2018-game-exploded-overnight\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">the game&#8217;s ever-growing player base.<\/a> The Nintendo Switch eShop listing for\u00a0<em>Among Us<\/em> shows that it will\u00a0carry the same $5 price tag it does on PC, while the free mobile iOS and Android versions of\u00a0<em>Among Us<\/em> are\u00a0supported by ads. The game will also require a Nintendo Switch Online membership to play with others online. The surprise announcement was enough to get &#8220;<em>Among Us<\/em> on Switch&#8221; trending on Twitter just minutes after its reveal\u00a0in Nintendo&#8217;s IndieWorld presentation this morning.<\/p>\n<p>Although developer InnerSloth initially planned to release a sequel to the online multiplayer game, <em>Among Us<\/em>\u00a0will continue to be supported with content that would have been added to the sequel, given its surprise popularity. Just last week at The Game Awards, InnerSloth <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/among-us-airship-map-reveal\/\">revealed a new map for the game,<\/a> featuring an expansive airship, set to release in early 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s worth noting that this is the game&#8217;s first official release on console, which seems fitting\u00a0given the Nintendo Switch&#8217;s hybrid handheld-home gaming nature.
