Even smaller games are joining in with the Christmas spirit, including 3D platformer\u00a0<em><strong>Pumpkin Jack<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/pumpkin-jack\/\">Pumpkin Jack<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>released in October and, while it&#8217;s very much a Halloween-themed game where players take control of the titular pumpkin-headed Jack, company Headup clearly saw an opportunity to shake things up with a Christmas update, while also trying to appeal to new players.<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/harry-potter-hogwarts-mystery-christmas-countdown-event\/\">Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery Christmas Countdown Event Starting Later This Week<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Not only is the update free, but it comes with a Santa suit for Jack which also changes the environments, causing it to snow throughout the levels and add general Christmas d\u00e9cor like snowmen. Five presents can also be found in each level and collecting those will unlock more promised surprises.<\/p>\n<p><iframe src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/gmJgsvfTlww\" frameborder=\"0\" allowTransparency=\"true\" style=\"border:none;overflow:hidden;width:1280;height:720;\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Whether intentional or not, this Halloween\/Christmas hybrid certainly brings to mind\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/nightmare-before-christmas-movie-childrens-book-differences\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">The Nightmare Before Christmas<\/a><\/em>, where Pumpkin King Jack Skellington discovers and becomes obsessed with Christmas (though Pumpkin Jack is certainly nowhere near as nice and more violent).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Nintendo Switch and PC versions are currently discounted for a limited time. It&#8217;s 30% off on Switch, 25% off on Steam and GOG, and 20% off on the Epic Games Store.<\/p>\n<p>Described as a cross between PlayStation classics\u00a0<em>Mevievil\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Jak &amp; Daxter<\/em>,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pumpkin-jack-review\/\"><em>Pumpkin Jack\u00a0<\/em>is certainly a great throwback to other platformers from that era<\/a>, but it doesn&#8217;t exactly offer anything new to help it stand out compared to its inspirations.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Pumpkin Jack\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>is available on Nintendo Switch, PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"next-single\">MORE:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/jack-skellington-nightmare-before-christmas-lego\/\">What&#8217;s This?
