After suffering a major delay in development due to the global pandemic, Natsume released a trailer for the upcoming farming simulator,\u00a0Harvest Moon: One<\/em> World<\/em><\/strong>, bringing the game closer to its release date next year.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Harvest Moon: One World<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was announced back in May of this year, but didn’t get a release date after its development process was delayed by Covid-19 restrictions. It was initially planned to release this fall, but\u00a0Harvest Moon: One World\u00a0<\/em>will now release March 2nd, 2021 for the Nintendo Switch. Like all\u00a0Harvest Moon\u00a0<\/em>games<\/a>,\u00a0One World\u00a0<\/em>will task the player with tending to farm while they meet and get to know the locals, and even marry one of them.<\/p>\n

New in\u00a0One World,\u00a0<\/em>players will be able to tend to animals other than the traditional farm livestock, such as camels and reindeer. Like with past\u00a0Harvest Moon\u00a0<\/em>games, players will be able to plant crops, go fishing, mine minerals, and attend festivals. As far as marriages go, it’s unclear at this point whether or not Natsume will allow same-sex marriage, which was not the case with its last installment,\u00a0Harvest Moon: Light of Hope<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This new\u00a0Harvest Moon\u00a0<\/em>game is not to be confused with the\u00a0Story of Seasons\u00a0<\/em>series<\/a>.\u00a0Publisher Natsume continued to own the rights to the\u00a0Harvest Moon\u00a0<\/em>name after the original\u00a0Harvest Moon\u00a0<\/em>games were later rebranded by Xseed as\u00a0Story of Seasons<\/em>. This has caused a great amount of confusion over long-time fans, resulting in many thinking\u00a0Story of Seasons\u00a0<\/em>is a spiritual successor to the\u00a0Harvest Moon\u00a0<\/em>games, when it’s actually the other way around. This series with the upcoming\u00a0Harvest Moon: One World<\/em>\u00a0game\u00a0<\/em>is sometimes known as the Natsume series to alleviate confusion.<\/p>\n
